One of my favorite books is Circle of Secrets by Kimberly Griffiths Little. It's about a girl who has shunned her mom. She moves to the bayou to live with her mom, and she's not happy about it. She eventually befriends a mysterious girl, and she uncovers secrets about her mom's past. So good!

It's an older book but I personally love it. It's full of knights, horses, kings, captives, castles, and adventure in general! The authers name is John White. Fyi this cover is really old so they changed it by now. And this is an illustration in the book!
