Lilliam Tried to KILL CHILDREN CHILDREN!! you can't justify that in any way. She was cruel and even her own daughter hates her. Lilliam does not have a right to be queen and I think she deserves banish meant.

Lilliam is greedy. She puts money above many things and often doesn’t think things throughly when there is money in the deal (for example, she automatically accepted Darthan’s deal). But that doesn’t mean she is dumb. In fact she is smart. She is a good ruler, but she has a bad personality.

And remember that we are looking at Lilliam through Rahikki’s eyes. Rayenna was Rahikki’s mother who was “killed“ by Lilliam so of course Rahikki is going to have some hate for Lilliam. So our opinion of Lilliam is affected by his hate.

And about the free medicine, while Rayenna was queen who do you think was paying for and buying all that medicine? The people. Rayenna probably taxed the people then used that money to give them medicine. So don‘t say Rayenna is all good and wonderful until you analyze her actions more.

The book never mentions how much Lilliam was charging for the medicine, and I think that her share of the money mostly went into feeding and clothing Mahrsan, I'Lenna, and her other daughters. I'm pretty sure that even if Lilliam wasn't getting a share the Sky Guard would still be in need of money. It can't be cheapest thing to house, feed, and supply a couple hundred riders and their mounts. Also, I'm betting a lot of the money went into fixing up, and improving Fort Prowl. I can imagine a fortress as old as Fort Prowl isn't the cheapest to maintain, I doubt if that if it had not been well maintained it would not have been able to withstand any attack.

But we know that she didn't really give money to the sky guard because they NEEDED the money from Echofrost and Shysong's sales to get more supplies. If Queen Lilliam were getting all of that money from the medicine, you would think that she would use it to keep the Sky Guard fell fed and armored. This shows that she really is greedy. We know that she was charging quite a bit for the medicine, and she obviously put none or very little into her Sky Guard.

Except Reyella. Reyella wasnt a bad queen. She was good. I highly doubt she just took money from her people.

I don't think Lilliam or Reyella stole money from anyone, I think that there was probably some Sandwen law that gave the queen a share in what ever money was collected from her clan

Reyella did it in a good way. Idk how she got the money, but I highly doubt she didnt just take it for herself. But for the losing control part, I agree with

Guys, it makes sense Lilliam would take a share of the revenue for her self. How else would she be able to afford clothes and Kihlari? Basically she would just be getting paid for being queen, and I'm almost sure Reyella was doing the same thing.

Also most of the things Lillaim did as queen were pretty bad, and most of that can be attributed to her not having had the proper training to lead a clan. So how I see it is she is slowly loosing control of her clan, I doubt she is intentionally trying to destroy the 5th Clan.

Another thing is, I'm a almost 100% sure that Rayella was doing the same things as Lilliam, you all you would not call Rayella evil, stupid, dumb, dull, cruel, idiot, selfish, or greedy.

What she is doing now to pratically destroy her clan, is horrible. There’s nothing good to it. (Just my opinion)

Lilliam doesnt know anything. She’s dumb and dull. Like Petalcloud. I see how some of you look into her backstory and try to see her “good side” but to Lilliam, there aint no good side.

I would not take the money from the people for myself, just because I come from a poor family and am one of the youngest. I would have it for medicines, to help keep supplies up and running. Same with food.

Again I would like to point out that wile not doubt Lilliam must have taken some of the money for herself, she must have used much of it increasing the defenses of Fort Prowl. And just because she made that deal with Darthan does not mean she's greedy. If you had a chance to save your clan a lot of money would you take it? I know I would.

Yeah, but another thing that proves her greed is the bet she makes with Uncle Darthan. It proves that she is very greedy. Also, I understand why she makes people pay for the medicine. That's the way our economy works, but I think that she would be upcharging the medicine because she has the monopoly, and it is a good way for her to make money. Do you really think that if a poor villager with no money were deathly ill with a disease that could be cured she would give them the medicine? Reyella might have made a mistake about just giving away medicine, but Queen Lilliam made a mistake with her decision too.

But it sounded to me like it was a somewhat common for a queen of a clan to be killed. I know that sounds weird because if something like happened today it would be all over the news and the murderer would sent to jail, but I think the Sandwens look at it differently. Yeah sure Lilliam killed their queen, but she was certainly not imprisoned.

I find it kinda funny that when I read Lilliams backstory it was so similar to Hans xD But, I still hate Lilliam. Whether or not she was “driven” into doing that, she didnt have to. She has self-control. She doesnt need money. And for pete sakes, if I were a princess that’d be good enough for me!
