So, we did a project for Social Studies. We picked any greek creature, person, or god/goddess. I chose Atalanta at first, then, Artemis or her Roman name: Diana. I traced this from a picture, What do you think compared to the picture? please tell the truth:D! Also sorry I have not been on here a lot.
Here it is!

i live in a suburb thats woody not cityish like. i cant stand the city LOL Kingston..... Queen/Kings area? lol
YES Wispi! just a little outside
In the old capital’s area. You’re in the Albany area?
Whoah, that’s the longest message I’ve ever made. 0_0 sorry!
And seriously, you guys are upset about people using mythology and changing it to their liking for superheros? I’m every single story with pegasi and unicorns, they do the exact sameness thing. Take My Little Pony for instance. If you knew how pegasi and unicorns REALLY acted and how they came to be, you’d be terrified and grossed out instead of cooing over them. It can’t be kinda annoying when they twist important figures and events around though, especially if they aren’t olds tales, but actual historical events that happened.
*Spoiler*:
(The guy Wonder Woman killed in the movie? He wasn’t an actual person, and he lived past WWII. And Ares, her brother that’s the Amazons are trying to defeat? He’s actually their father. It’s why the Amazons was were so warlike and violent.
XD no, I’m not from New York. Rick Riordin’s take on the myths are basically the same as the originals. However, he does prefer to use the darker, more tragic variations.
thank you Isabelle!! lol havent seen you in a long time! and Navy thank you! i fixed it some time though it still looked like weird XD! are you new? if you are then WELCOME TO THE MB! IF YOUR NOT THEN gods it urghhh i hate caps lock! if your not then Hey! lol Isabelle, i got most of my mythology from Rick Riordan's books!!! and your name is like my classmate.... you are in New York?..... her name is isabelle with and a at the end and slightly different from the last name....
*sigh* another internet mythology debate.
Bellona is a deity unique to Roman stories only. She has no Greek equivalent.
Athena is the Greek counterpart of Minerva. She had a lesser role in Roman culture than Bellona.
Artemis is the Greek counterpart of Diana. Wonder Woman was named after her because she was important to the Amazons, an all female culture. Atalanta was a virgin huntress like Artemis, so they were associated with each other and thus have similar statues.
Great work on the pic!
Lol
Oh okay
i mforgot but drawing.... speed drawing? lol dunno long time ago
Whaaaaaaat? What about Dragon’s contest?
Dragon's Contest?
Ohhhhh Okay Dragon. So, who’s your favorite Marvels character?
W. H. A.T?!?!?!?! HOW-
Idk I just really want Mrs. Alvarez’s daughter to be on here for some reason (wait, how old is she?)
Special Congrats actually
Haven’t you watched the March video? The newsletter was sent today. It has to do with cats I think
Btw, how did you know what is gonna be in next month’s video? 😱 You’re not Mrs. Alvarez’s daughter, are you?!?!
And Dragon, I think we have the sameness taste when it come so to movie some because I LOVE MARVEL AND DC MOVIES TOO!!! And Star Wars, DO NOT FORGET STAR WARS
-can’t make any sense out of the Greek stuff- Ummmmm....... Uhhhhhhh........ Cool picture Dawnfeather
Lol
Gtg
Cya
Wow XD it Nightwing! AHHHHH
Your a Superhero geek, im a Greek Mythology geek LOLOLOL
Most are tragedy some are comedy’s
Oh and greek mythology is very very alive. Have you read one? Its actually a little funny how the gods act like children XD
Oh! Everyone who did dragons contest, listen to the guardian herd video mrs Alvarez makes next month on April 15th!
Lol Flamefrost
Oh lol my friend thought Athena was the goddess of love. I stared at her very shocked for about a minute XD
Umm Dawn about the wonder woman my mom would TOTALLY disagree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're not COPEING they're trying to bring the greek myths back to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To let the greek be known yet again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Btw, this is the Nightwing I'm talking about:
Sorry, I'm a huge super hero geek
Minerva in Harry Potter is alright though. They make her a old magicky Proffesor. Nothing wrong with that.
Also Disney Hercules suckssss
Still, daughter of OTRERA? Ughhh, Rick Riordan doesn’t copy. It was for his son Haly. His son loved it and he wanted Riordan to write more. Superheroes, it gets too confusing. You think, “Oh do you know who Loki is??”
“Yeah! He’s a Villain in these comics!”
That’s basically a response I get every single time): It gets soooo annoying! Also Rick Riordan mostly did it based on myths, while Superheroes are just not really actually based on the myths. Another example.
“Hi, OML THOR IS MY FAVORITE!!!”
Then
“REALLY? ME TOO! THOR IS LIKE, THE BEST SUPERHERO!”
Do you get my point? (No offense to you guys)
What to you mean copy the Greek/Roman myths? DC comics is basically doing the same thing as Rick Riordan. And if I remember correctly Wonder woman is named after the Roman goddess Diana, their not steeling/changing her
Sorry im going on and on
Bellona of War
Artemis goddess of the hunt, Maidens, many other things
Bellona has no Greek Equivalent, Diana is Artemis, Minerva to Athena
I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Athena was Minerva! Bellona was the Roman goddess of war, they stripped Athena of her military power(basically)
Nuh uh uh uh!
Yeah
I Googled that Dragon, and I didn’t find anything about Bellona but yes, she became Minerva. You’re also right about Artemis/Diana
Wait . . . . . isn't Diana also Wonder-Woman?!?!?! Oh nevermind that's just the new movie. But I agree flamefrost on the picture but otherwise it's awesome!!!!!!
Actually the Romans split Athena in half, and she became Minerva (goddess of wisdom) and Bellona (goddess of war). And Diana is the Roman name for Artemis.
Wait, Diana was the Roman version of Athene/Athena, not Artemis. But about the drawing, I don’t want to be rude but the chin and mouth look kinda ... off. The hair is awesome though.
