*Post contains mild spoilers*
So I think that we're all aware that Mrs. Alvarez has said multiple times that she plans on perhaps writing a series that takes place after the end of Windborn, and tells the story about what happens in Anok after Nightwing's death. I think that pretty much all Herd Nerds are hoping if this happens, we'll get to meet a Starleaf foal, and I mean, seriously, who wouldn't want to see that happen?
Well, I was thinking about what might happen in future TGH books, when an idea struck me. What if Star and Nightwing weren't the only black foals out there? And no I'm not talking about all the black foals that were born dead, Riversun, or even Star and Morningleaf's possible foal, what if there was a whole herd of black foals out there?
I think that it's entirely possible. Anok is quite huge, we really only know about the western half of the continent, and considering how large that half is, that means that there is most likely quite a lot of space for a herd of black foals to hide. Wouldn't that make a super interesting story?
I know one theory that hasn't been brought up recently, is that now that Star has united Anok, black becomes a common color among pegasi
Although, it says black foals are to unite the herds in Anok.
Now that I think about it. I feel the Hundred Year Star chooses where to put the black foal. When you think about it, it probably knows not to put a foal in the danger of landwalkers. If a foal was born there, it would be because the pegasi there needed to be united. (However, The star probably just cares who needs to be united, because if it were danger, why were all the foals killed after Nightwing?.?... Not the best idea, but it does choose, well, the chosen one.
You know what would be really interesting?!? If in the next 100 years the landwalkers had a black foal born to them. lol That would be epic!
Good points
Forgot to mention this, but that also, goes for other black foals. They shouldn't be able to have a black foal. Also, after Nightwing all the black foals were killed except Star. If it were before Nightwing that you are referring to then a black foal would need to take many steeds with him to start a herd. (That should have been/if real in all the legends Morningleaf knew/in their history.) If black foals were born from this herd it would have stopped at Nightwing. Now, here's were it gets interesting. This would mean that either the old black foal still lives, and a black foal/s were born to the herd, but why did it stop for so many years? (It stopped at Nightwing.) (Either, one foal lives from that herd, the black foal.) This kind of shows that there is no herd there. However, if there is a black foal council, one of them if bound to power, and would try to kill all of them. This could result in a war among that herd. So, that could explain why Anok hasn't skipped a black foal in so many years.
I know there are quite a few super heroes how've lost their power at one point or another, and after a wile, they get it back.
Perhaps, but if you say that, the foal still wouldn't be black. Also, Star lost his starfire. Even know I still think there's a chance he might still have it. However, with that said, I don't think his foal could use starfire. If anything, his foal would rather just be able to have the affects of it. With this, the foal could only really self-heal.
Yeah, there would probably be a relatively low number of black foals in the herd, and there is a chance that second generation black foals could possibly be born with starfire, or are able to use it (without receiving from the hundred year) on their first birthday
Also, I don't think a black foal would have another black foal. If this happened, it would be pointless for the Hundred Year Star. Every black foal would be fighting over the Hundred Year Star. They would possibly be killing each other for it, because the star isn't going to split its power. It would just ruin the knowledge of the story.
Well, they wouldn't all be black foals. That would ultimately take away from the Hundred Year Star. It would be cop.
I was thinking that maybe the story behind it would have been that the herd was all descended form a black foal that some how faked his death or something, left western Anok, and maybe found a bunch of other herds, possibly in eastern Anok, that had a prophecy or something about a black foal that would come from the west to unite them.
Eh.. There could be one other, but a whole island full would not be the best idea. To understand what I mean, see the statement I made before.
YEESS!!!! I've been thinking about it recently. "There ha to be more than two black foals....rght?" i would usually ask myself, then go into this long rant/debate with myself XD
However, it doesn't seem like they were able to communicate with them.
I agree Dawn! The horses thing would be pretty cool.
idk its a good suggestion! i am hoping for a Starleaf foal! and what if horses ruled the other side?
Yeahhhhh..... Honestly, in this case, it would just take away from the story. It would also, just be coping off of How To Train Your Dragon quite a bit. If this was a plan for the books, I don't think it would be for the best. It would take away from what was established. In HTTYD it's different, the idea has worked, but for this, I don't think it would at all.
