The day after the Twistfire left, Patchfeather, Dragonfrost, and Smokemoon, were grazing on moss with the other two year old foals, when Patchfeather noticed Dragonfrost had stopped grazing and was looking at something. Patchfeather fallowed his gaze, and saw Dragonfrost's dam, Sunnyglow, grazing with Coldfire, one of Icewings captains.

"They look like a cute couple." Commented Smokemoon, who had also fallowed Dragonfrost's gaze.

Dragonfrost stomped one of his front hooves on the ground, and flew off.

"Come back Dragonfrost, Smokemoon didn't mean..." Patchfeather called after him but he was already to far away to hear, she turned to Smokemoon, "Why'd you have to say that?" She demanded.

Smokemoon looked confused, "S-sorry, I-I didn't know he would react like that."

Patchfeather rolled her eyes, and took off after Dragonfrost.

Dragonfrost's dam Sunnyglow, was captured during a raid on Sun Herd meany years ago. When they brought her back they found she had not been weaned yet, so Icewing had given her to a foster mother. Sunnyglow had a hard time fitting in, so her foster brother, Whitesnow, was her only friend. When Sunnyglow, and Whitesnow, grew up they became mates. About month before Dragonfrost was born, a hungry grizzly had tried to kill some yearlings,Whitesnow had stepped in and saved the yearlings but baddly injured in the process, and he died a few days latter.

Dragonfrost had never known his sire, but he learned as much as he could about Whitesnow, to keep his memory alive. But Patchfeather had noticed Dragongfrost had become very sensitive about his sire a few months ago, when Sunnyglow, had started to hang around Coldfire.

Dragonfrost, must have noticed Patchfeather, fallowing him, because he landed by a melting stream to wait for her. "What do you want?" He sounded annoyed.

Patchfeather landed next to him, "I was worried about you. You just took with no warning."

Dragonfrost hung his head and looked at the ground, "Look, I don't wanna talk about it!" His voice shook, and he collapsed next to the stream.

Patchfeather rushed over to him, and nuzzled his ear. Dragonfrost's body shook, "Is like my mother forgot all about Whitesnow." He sobbed.

"It's not like that and you know it." Patchfeather said trying to calm him down.

"It's just, seeing her with Coldfire, it makes me mad she's happy with him, she should be happy with Whitesnow." Tears rolled down his face.

"Dragonfrost, Whitsnow's dead. Sunnygolw loved him very much, but now she's moved on."

Dragonfrost sighed, they watched the snow melt around the stream, lost in thought. "Sunnyglow is having Coldfire's foal this spring." Said Dragonfrost after a wile. After that they sat in science for another few minuets.

Suddenly a huge grizzly emerged from the woods and roared.
