Patchfeather, Dragonfrost, and Smokemoon, landed in the clearing Snow Herd was currently camped out in, just as Icewing was calling his herd together.

"Pegasi of Snow Herd," he said addressing the whole herd, while he hovered just above the trees so everyone could see him. "Thunderwing, over stallion of Sun Herd has sent one of his captains, Twistfire, to tell us some troubling news."

One of the Sun Herd pegasi, a red dun stallion with olive green wings, flew up to Icewing and hovered beside him.

"That must be Twistfire." Whispered Dragonfrost.

"Thank you Icewing," said the red dun stallion, "I am Twistfire."

"Your right Dragonfrost." Whispered Patchfeather

"Shhhhhh, I want to hear what's so important for Thunderwing to sent one of his captains all the way up here." Whispered Smokemoon angrily.

"Sorry Smokemoon." Whispered Patchfeather

"As you all know every hundred years a black foal is born to one of the herds of Anok." Said Twistfire loudly, "Such a foal has been born to Sun Herd just a few hours ago."

At that Snow Herd began to panic, foals ran to their mothers, stallions reared, some even took off and flew in low circles around the camp. Patchfeather, Dragonfrost, and Smokemoon were almost trampled.

"SNOW HERD!" Icewing's voice boomed around the clearing, calming the frightened steeds.

Twistfire, now looking a little bit nervous, cleared his throat. "Thunderwing promises to kill the foal on his first birthday, if he isn't dead by then." T

wistfire nodded at Icewing and headed back to Sun Herd territory fallowed by the other Sun Herd steeds.
