Here is the first part of Storm Herd RP (as the title says)
STORYLINE:
Somewhere while a migration is underway, a huge storm splits the herd. Half of the herd find their way to their initial location. But, half the herd is spit out on the eastern boarder past the interior. No pegasus has settled there so the land is unknown. They don't know what they will find or what they will encounter. The lost steeds consist of the over-stallion, the lead mare, a good amount of captains, an equal amount of mares and under-stallions, and a few foals\yearlings\weanlings. They have a good foundation to start a new herd but have no idea what danger lurks. They have to find a way to survive with such few numbers till the herd grows.

( Anybody feel like a revival? )
(sorry I haven't been active, I forgot about this roleplay, and my school started on August 21st, so im here now for a bit. Sorry again) Skydancer- Skydancer yawned and lifted her head. She remembered getting attacked but it was hazy. She laid her head back down as a wave of naseua rolled over her. "Dawnroot," she asked. "I wanted to thank you for helping me..." Skydancer went back to sleep, and dreamed her parents were still alive.
Swiftmoon:
He watched her fly away with a longing glance. He tossed his damp forelock out of his eyes and lifted off, but didn't zoom after her. He spread his wings wide and just enjoyed the sunshine and the wind.
By the time he got back, Junerye had landed and had a bored expression as Swiftmoon touched down. He read her expression easily and with a light flutter of his wings, said, "I raced you there. I didn't want to race you back. Besides, it's a nice day for a slow, easy fly." He quietly muttered to her as their instructor walked in front of them with blazing intensity.
Junerye:
She smiled at him and trotted onto the bank, spreading her wings. "Yeah, we probably should be getting back to the herd. Race ya!" She shouted quickly. Then she hurled herself into the air, gliding up into the open sky and zooming over the trees, her hooves bumping against leaves and branches, making her legs vibrate and go numb. She laughed, and continued to race back, assuming her best friend was following, Of course, she wouldn't be upset if he wasn't, for she did know he did not enjoy races as much as she did herself.
(not active because of school or crazy notifications?)
"Sure lets go. I need to talk to Stormcloud anyway." She smiled.
Snowdust:
Snowdust liked the Lead Mare compared to other Lead mares that she has heard of in other herds,
Snowdust wandered the herd lands where other pegasi were not wanting to be attacked again.
Dawnroot:
Dawnroot inspected Skydancer, her eat these herbs these will help with pain and help you fall asleep, Skydancer ate the herbs, Dawnroot turned to the other pegasi that were watching with concerned looks "Snowfire. Stormfly, will you help take Skydancer back? Autumnfire, Iceshard, Will you patrol the herdlands to make sure the panthers stay away?"
Iceshard,
"Yes Dawnroot," Iceshard said taking off to the sky searching the land for anymore of the pantherss
Snowfire:
"I'm fine with it as long as Stormfly is" He said looking at Stormfly with a small hidden smile on his face glad that he was able to spend more time with the beautiful young battle mare.
"Oh my! Are you okay!" Stormcloud said as she inspected the foal like a worried dam. The foal had a few feathers missing but was overall okay. "We'll get you to dawnroot once she's done with Skydancer. In the meantime I need to talk with Stonewing. Keep close to the other steeds and dont go off alone. Okay?" She nuzzled Snowdust and flew up to her mate. " I think we need more captains and more patrol. Thats two more attacks today and the panthers know we dont know the land." She said stressing. "Its only a matter of time before a foal is killed!" Now her motherly instincts were going haywire. She was pacing back and forth annoying her mate like crazy. (@Dragon I was wondering if I could make a mare who lost her mate so Sunripple had someone to talk two. They could be really good friends or something. I just wanted to ask you first.:)
(Has this not been active cause of back to school?)
Iceshard: "Skydancer was attacked my one of those panthers, but I think her leg will heal up." She said.
"Hey, no one could of known a attack would happen, I hate myself to, it is one of my duties to help protect the herd" she sighed, "Luckily my brother and Stormfly were nearby when it happened, I just hope these cats are the worst animal out here, and not the wolves from the legends the Dire Wolves."
Snowdust:
Snowdust was happily galloping around a field bursting dandelion seeds everywhere, she wished her sister was there playing with her, suddenly she saw emerald green eyes staring at her through the underbrush, Snowdust let out a yelp of surprise and flew into the air just as a panther leaped at her the panther caught some of her feathers and ripped them out Snowdust flew higher into the air.
Snowdust knew she needed to tell a captain, or the Overstallion and Lead Mare, Snowdust flew over the herd lands looking for someone to tell. There she saw Stormcloud the Lead Mare talking to some of the other pegasi, she landed trotted over to her, "Stormcloud, I was just almost attacked by a panther," Snowdust said, Snowdust knew it wasn't right to say what came out of her mouth next becaouse of her rank but she said it anyway "I recommend that we start patrolling where the attacks and sightings have happened to make sure it never happens again"
Days later, Autumnfire flew over the herd, watching. She then flew to meet the Medicine Mare, Dawnroot. There had been a few attacks by those big pouncing beasts, and Autumnfire wanted to take a look. She spotted the mare flying with Iceshard towards some of the pegasi who needed herbs. She sighed with sadness and flattened her ears as she banked to follow them. The two landed, and Dawnroot headed to a wounded foal. Autumnfire tilted her orange wings to softly land next to Iceshard. She was so mad at herself over the damage the cats were already doing to the herd. "How is Skydancer doing, Iceshard? I heard what had happened to her" she sighed and closed her eyes, "I should have been there. Iceshard... I hate myself" Autumnfire felt like this was all her fault. Somewhere in her mind, it was like she thought that if she had never seen the first young panther, then non of these attacks would be happening. "I hate those things, Iceshard. I hate those cats."
Dawnroot:
Dawnroot, looked up at Iceshard the normally calm Battlemare's face twisted with worry,
"Yes, yes," she said quickly, the medicine mare grabbed a few different herbs, one to help with the pain, another one to help the foal fall asleep, "These will work for now, until I can make a herb mixture to help with swelling and pain, now where is the foal"
"Follow me" Iceshard said. The two mares lifted of into the air and heading in the direction of the foal, Iceshard spotted Stormfly and her brother Snowfire helping the Yearling to the herdlands,
"Right there" Iceshard said, pointing with her hoof. Dawnroot landed first and headed over to the foal, Iceshard landed second and headed over to the three pegasi.
Iceshard:
"Sure" she said, she raised her wings and took off to the sky racing towards the rest of the herd. Iceshard quickly spotted the medicine mare sorting herbs underneath the shade of a tree. Iceshard landed on the ground and raced toward the medicine mare. "We need your help" she said gasping for air, "One of the yearlings got attacked by a panther, and has a lame leg."
Skydancer- Skydancer dragged herself up and tried to limp back to the herd. Flying was out of the question.
(Okay)
(Sorry I gtg back to school shopping, Sarcastic yay!!!)
Iceshard woke up suddenly to the sounds of screams, she instantly took to the air scanning the herd for where it came from, at last she was a panther in the field below attacking one of the yearlings! She swooped down and saw that Stormfly was already there she sighed in relief. Iceshard landed gently on the grass and ran over to them, "Is everyone alright?" she asked panting out of breath from getting to the field as fast as she could.
Snowfire.
Snowfire was started for a quick second when Stormfly suddenly dove down, but he quickly realised that there was a foal being attacked, he dove down and saw his sister was there also he ran over to them, "Is everyone alright?" he asked
Stormfly: Stormfly and Snowfire were flying back to the herd when she heard the faintest scream. Forgetting to tell Snowfire she dove down to a yearling being attacked. She dove on the pather cracking a few ribs with her hooves. the panther let go of the filly's leg and hissed. The mare reared and flared her wings. She coiled her hooves and gave a hard blow to the pathers head. It ran off scqeeling. She felt bad about attacking it but glad that she didn't deliver a deathly blow. "Are you okay?"
(Yay!)
(Is anyone else here??)
Skydancer- Skydancer was frolicking around a field and didn't notice a panther coming up behind her. She swung around just in time to see the panther pounce.
"HEEEEEELP!!" she cried as the panther grabbed her wing and aqua feathers flew everywhere.
Skydancer grimaced as she tried to fly away, but couldn't. "HELP ME PLEASE!" she screamed at the top of her voice. The panther grabbed her leg and tugged, growling. She groaned and tears leaked out of her eyes. "Help..." she said quietly, and everything faded to black.
(Finished. And could I possibly almost get killed by a panther, or would that kinda kill the story?)
(XD thanks)
(hey can I join as a yearling plz? if so, where should I put my oc?)
Swiftmoon:
He glanced back toward the direction of the herd. "I think we should head back. If we spend any longer here our training captains might become worried...and we'll probably get into even more trouble." He said, standing up and shaking the sand off his light dun coat. He unfurled his wings and glanced back to Juneye to see if she was coming.
Iceshard:
Iceshard nuzzled her sister gently "I'm going to get some rest" she said.
"Okay" her sister Snowdust replied
Iceshard trotted over to the nice shade of a tree, layed down and in a matter of seconds she feel into a peaceful sleep.
"Aright" Snowfire said stretching out his wings
Snowfire:
Snowfire, "Yea, I also miss everyone" he said with a sigh,
Stormfly: "Yah i'm okay. I- I just miss everyone." She sniffled now that her tears had run dry.
Stormcloud: She flew up to her mate and nuzzled him. She sighed "Autumnire spotted yet another family of cats."
Snowfire:
Snowfire pricked his ears to the sound of a bush rattling in the distance,
"I'll be right back" he said to his sisters
"okay" they said almost at the same time
Snowfire flapped his wings and took flight, he soared across the herd swiveling his ears to locate the sound. he flew to the brush scanning the area, at last he saw something in the brush. Snowfire knew this was not a threat, for he could recognize that beautiful grulla paint coat anywhere. he flew closer and saw Stormfly there crying, her beautiful face soaked in tears,
he landed next to her,
he nuzzled the side of her face gently "Hey you okay? Stormfly?" he asked kindly,
Swiftmoon:
He could feel Junerye's eyes on him, but he didn't look up as too not make the conversation awkward or uncomfortable. So, he pretended like he didn't notice and he finished preening his feathers, "Actually, that makes sense. Maybe it's the same with the clouds. When the sun is setting the sun's light is orange so maybe that cause the clouds to have an orange color, too." He said, aloud, secretly admiring Junerye.
Junrye:
She looked up at the sky. “Yeah, actually. This may sound a absolutely ludicrous, but I always thought the sky was blue because of the sun’s light. And with the horizon and the fact that Anok rotates every day for the sun to come up and down,” she explained. She laid down on the bank and stared up at the sky. “It’s all just so amazing and beautiful, yet so dangerous and fun,” she said smiling.
She found herself staring at Swiftmoon and his beautiful wings. He was handsome, and he was also kindhearted. She didn’t know if what she felt towards him was love or some other strange feeling, but she wished he felt it, too.
Swiftmoon:
He watched her leave with a care-free expression. He knew that Junerye was literal, but he didn't mind. Every pegasus was different and every pegasus has their flaws. But, to him, flaws were perfect.
He smiled at the thought and waded out of the pond. He laid down and immediately rolled, enjoying the rough sand scratching his back and wings. He laid there for a minute, looking up at the clouds with his legs pointing straight up and his wings stretched open on either side of him. "Ever wonder why the sky is blue? Or why the clouds are white?" He asked, suddenly to no one in particular, without even realizing he had asked a question.
He took one more glance up at the sky, then rolled back over on his side and started to preen all the sand and seaweed out of his wings and tail.
Autumnfire:
Autumnfire flew back to the spot she saw the cub. She would not let those sneaky cats get near the herd. Autumnfire knew cats. She knew how they hid their cubs; in dens. Autumnfire was good with knowing predators. She knew all about wolves, bears, and big cats. Her sire had been a captain too. She grow up hearing about predators and how they acted. She remembered a little trick her sire did whenever he found a den. She looked around, looking for rocks or twigs, whatever worked. So Autumnfire started to line up twigs that led right to the spot she saw the cat. So that the other captains and Lead Captain could get a good idea where it's really at. Her sire would set up a perimeter around a den, showing ever steed in the herd to stay away. So she would do the same trick here. After Autumnfire finished the trail, she started to wonder where the den could be at. She guessed it had to be close. For now, though, she wanted to get some water. So she walked back to the herd. In the daylight, the cats wouldn't come out. She had time to think.
Junerye:
She nickered in amusement. “Technically, this is a large pond, not a lake, but I guess the same thing,” she snorted, raising an eyebrow teasingly. She was sometimes too literal, which was something she needed to work on, but then she swam up to the bank of the pond and shook off her coat and dipped her head to drink up the water.
(Bye!)
(I gtg bye!)
Swiftmoon:
He was already tired from trying to catch up with Junerye, who was a lot faster at flying than he, so when she stopped suddenly he couldn't react fast enough to stop or to dodge her. So, he crashed head over hooves into the lake along with Junerye.
He paddled up to the surface, stuck his nose out of the water and inhaled deeply. He glanced at Junerye, who was laughing hard.
Swiftmoon grinned and laughed, too "O-oh, sor-ry-y." He stammered through his laughter, enjoying the hilarious moment. He inhaled again and collected himself, "Sorry. I didn't know you were going to stop so soon." He said, but before he knew it, he burst out laughing again. "One minute I'm behind you, enjoying the wind and the next thing I know, I'm tumbling through the air then splashing into a lake!!" He nickered, shaking his wet forelock out of his eyes.
Junerye:
She flicked her left ear back and heard Swiftmoon’s happy whinny. She was surprised he was enjoying the race. Normally, he wouldn’t be to keen on racing against another pegasus, but she was glad he was enjoying it. She dodged the few trees and branches that got into her way and gave a big flap of her beautiful golden feathers, undoing all the hard preening she’d taken part in this morning. She shook off the resentful thought and focused on the race.
She stopped short right above the lake, but she stopped so hard Swiftmoon crashed into her and she lost her grip on the wind and fell straight into the cool water, gasping at its temperature. Bubbles burst from her mouth and she swam to the surface. When her head reached the surface, she gasped in some air before laughing herself silly.
(yep! still here)
( I’M STILL HERE!!! DON’T BE GONE!! )
Swiftmoon:
His eyes twinkled even brighter in amusement at her last statement. He ruffled his wings and glided through the clouds. He cocked a half-smile, "I wasn't going to stop you. I was going to come with you." He said, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
He admired this mare for many reasons and deep down a flower of love started to bloom.
He loved how she was so independent and fierce- a quality he didn't have.
Swiftmoon quickly looked away before she caught him staring and focused more on counting the trees that passed below them.
Junerye:
She jumped when Swiftmoon sidled up next to her and blinked, hearing the question but not really listening. She was memorized by his blue eyes. They were twinkling and dancing in the wonderful morning light, and for some reason they reminded her of her brother. After a few second of silence, she realized she’d been asked a question and quickly said, “I-I’m. . . .” She knew that if she told him she was getting water without consultant of a captain or going with a group of pegasi instead of just herself, but she also knew that friends didn’t lie.
“i was going to get some water to drink. . . “ She said. Then she held her head up defiantly into the air. “And you aren’t going to stop me, no matter what you say,” She snorted. Then she had a thought to herself. She should’ve been going to the battle-mare’s field and going with the Sky Herder trainer, But she would get a drink of water before working her tail off training under extreme pressure.
Stonewing:
As Stonewing prepared to deal with the problem of if the battle-mares, sky herders, under-stallions, spys, and the flight school students would continue their training in their time in this land. But, when he saw his mate, Stormcloud fly up, he knew he’d talk to her first. He also knew he’d much rather talk with his love than talk about politics with the rest of his captains. He smiled and nickered a greeting to her as she flew up and said, “What, come to complain about all those grumpy mares you have to deal with?” His voice was thick with playfulness and love. There had been many days and nights where they both had complained to the other about their daily duties as leaders of their herd.
Although, when he looked into her eyes, he knew immediately this was a serious Conversation and cleared his throat. “Err- What’s wrong, Stormcloud?” He asked. “Is something wrong with the mares or the foals? Did one of your scout missions not return?” He ceased with His question and waited for her answer.
Sunripple-
The palomino stallion paced restlessly. He was completely oblivious to the commotion that was happening with the rest herd, all he could think about was Rubymist. Every time he closed his eyes he could see her despite expression, the one she had when Sunripple had been ripped away from her. If only he could have been stronger. If only he could have held out against the wind just for just a moment longer. Then maybe he would be still with her....
These thoughts swirled in his mind. Rubymist was the sweet, kind, and at times reckless mare who was carrying Sunripple's unborn foal. He cared for her deeply, and the idea of her being on her own so close to giving birth was to much for the stallion.
Stormcloud: "Thank you so much for telling me this. That's another family of cats to add to the list. We almost lost little Juneblossom to one. Thank the hundred year star that Clawhoof (random stallion) was there to save her." She sighed stressed "I'll go consult with Stonewing about this. For now can you make sure steeds are alert and away from where you last saw the cat." She nuzzled a good-bye and flew up to Stonewing.
Swiftmoon:
He was grazing under the shade of an oak tree, when he had watched Autumnfire frantically land in front of Stormcloud, then proceeded to tell the lead-mare something. He was too far away to hear what it was about, and knew better than to go and ask, but both mares seemed stressed. He looked away. "I hope everything's alright..." He mumbled, knowing that dealing with something more than the pregnant mares and the idea the they were separated from the comfort of the rest of the herd was going to be stressful.
A sudden flash of color above him caught his attention. He turned and looked to see what it was and he smiled happily. It was Junerye, who was repositioning her wing. Swiftmoon waved to her and leaped into the air. He flew swiftly up to her with and sidled next to her. "Hey!" He nickered warmly. "Where are you going? Aren't you supposed to be at the battle mare training grounds?" He asked, his blue eyes twinkling with life.
Snowfire:
Snowfire was quietly grazing with his sisters, sneaking glances at Stormfly when they weren't looking, he was glad the young battle mare was here with this half of the herd, he quickly shook his head trying not to think of her but he could not, he kept wanting to see her to talk to her to make her smile, but he sighed as he saw Stormfly fly off,. and Snowfire continued grazing
Stormcloud: The mare was addressing the mares and foals. Every steed was safe but the pregnant mares were getting stressed and grumpy. Their medicine mare (still open) mashed new roots that she had already tested. She had been busy looking for new medicines and Stormcloud did all she could to help her and ease the stressed mares. It didn't do much though. She was talking to a heavily pregnant mare when she saw Autumnfire frantically flying to the herd. "Woah Woah Woah! Whats wrong!" She asked. Leading her away from the stressed mares.
Autumnfire waited under a small tree as she watched two fillies playing in the sky. She was happy to see that someone was having fun since the storm. Now, Autumnfire was cancered for the pregnant mares, nobody knew this land, or it's predators. She gazed out at the small forest behind her, imagining of a pair of eyes looking back. She shook the feeling and looked back at the mares, who were getting irritated with the loud fillies. Autmnfire sigh, feeling sad..... Yet again, she was not one of the pregnant mares this year. She loved foals. She dreamed of being a mother one day, but seeing the circumstances the herd was in now, she knew it was not her time. She was a strong captain. She had worked hard to get where she was today, and now the herd needed her to be that strong captain. She was very proud of that.
Then, out of nowhere, she heard the shake of leaves behind her. She jumped, and looked back. There, in a huge bush, a small rabbit nibbled on a flower. She sighed just as something bigger snatched it. Autumnfire gasped. Then, a black tail slipped back through the bush. She was frozen, but yet, she slowly moved toward the bush. She knew in her heart it was danger she could not leave alone.
As she moved toward the unseen danger, every nerve in her said to run, but she would not. She felt her strong blood push her on. She reached the bush, flew over it, and saw more trees. She then saw the same black tail move between the trees. She could tell the tail was longer than she thought. Autumnfire's first thought was a small black bear. But now... she was not so sure. She knew with a tail like that, it had to be something else. She hovered in the air and watched. Soon, the black tail disappeared. She waited, and guessed it was gone. Then, she was shocked. Out of nowhere, a young panther jumped out from behind the big tree. It looked right at her, but then ran away. She could tell it was young, a cub, maybe only a few mouths old. Autumnfire turned and flew back to the herd. She had to tell them. These lands were home to panthers!
Stormfly: She woke to the sun piercing her eyes and Snowfire's two sisters playing happily. Her thoughts wandered to the stallion. It had only been 1 day sinse the storm and she wondered if the stallion made it. No. She prayed that the stallion made it. Sure enough there he was his speckled hide glimmering in the sunshine.... She broke out of her thoughts highly embarrassed and pointed her thoughts to the new land. They had sent scouts to see if they were anywhere familiar. But they found nothing. The herd didn't have the slightest clue as to where we were or how to get back. But thankfully their strong Overstallion was with them and not the other half of the herd. She trotted around looking for anyone to talk to. most of the other mares were to grumpy and pregnant to talk to, she was too embarrassed to talk to Snowfire and everyone was just to serious. So she went to the nearby river to cool off.
Snowfire:
Snowfire was grazing in the field, he pricked his ears to the squeals of laughter overhead. He looked up and saw his to sisters chasing each other through the sky,
Snowdust: Snowdust squealed in laughter as she topped through the thin cloud layer, she loved playing tag with her siblings especially her sister. Her sister Iceshard was a battle mare, which was what she wanted to be when she was older. Snowdust flapped her wings propelling her to her sister, "Tag your it!" Snowdust said through giggles as she gently bumped her sisters head with her wing.
Iceshard"
Iceshard laughed had her sister soared by tagging her, she arched her wings catching a air current that sent her flying toward her sister, "I'm going to catch you!" Iceshard called after her,
"No your not!" Snowdust said over her shoulder.
Iceshard rode the air current all the way to her sister, "Got you!" Iceshard said tackling her sister, both of them toppled through the clouds, Iceshard flapped her wings stopping her fast decent to the ground and Snowdust did the same, the two sisters flew down to the field and landed next to Snowfire, and the two started to graze.
(oof that was a lot)
