See the resemblance? Sunwing is a direct descendant of Wildwing, the Founding OS of Sky Herd. They are about 120 years apart. Wildwing is his great-great grand sire. Sunwing is the OS in which Sun Herd is named after. The name was changed by Wildwing's younger brother, Lakewing, the OS of Moon Herd at the time. Yeah. That works.

Lakewing was much, much younger than his brother, Wildwing. He never met Wildwing, and by the time Lakethorn, (at the time) was a two year old, their sire, Clawwing was very ill and was not able to lead. So the herd decided to make Lakethorn the OS.
