Declan:
The girls squealed defiantly and each took a candy, not wanting their father to steal it. They ripped open the packaging and popped the little sweet into their mouth. Their eyes widened and they shared a long look. Cara smiled widely and flopped dramatically onto the sofa as her sister exclaimed in Irich, “Holy Mother of Farris!“
“Cloda,” Declan snapped at her daughters language and she snapped her mouth shut, but she was clearly still enjoying the candy. “This is great! So tangy!” Cara cheered from her place on the couch without using her sister’s foul language. “This is better than great! Best candy ever!”
Declan rolled his eyes comedically as the girls fawned and obsessed over the foreign fruit candy. “Thank you very much, Carmela. Now I’m going to have to take them to Joneirestown exclusively for that candy.“ He teased with a smile, then nodded.
“It’s been quiet here, mainly. We had a few guests stay with us from Joneirestown who were just passing through. One of them is still here, but the other had to leave and return home.“ There was a slight regretful note to his voice as he spoke, “Now, the herd is getting ready for the autumn festival.” He set Carmela’s food container on the dining table. “Is that why you came home? To celebrate with us?”
(Any recomments you have for ppl just post it below)
Summary: (By River ❤❤! Not me! XD Thanks so much friendo!!)
After the fight, with the help of Fig and Rayla, Ben was brought to Ulrani’s hut for both Rayla’s and Ben’s injuries. Now he and Rayla are sitting and talking about what happened.
Romie rescued Kilroy from the underground cave and I think he is bringing Kilroy back to his little campsite? Kilroy is skittish of Romie, and vise-versa, but Kilroy is focused on getting back to the herd. Unbeknownst to him, Sunpond and Callum are in Sun herd.
Carmela, Declan’s late-wife apprentice, came over to visit and have dinner with the family. She gave Cloda and Cara some candy she found from her short time in Jonhirestown. The girls eagerly tried the foreign candy as Declan and Carmela speak about Irichad herd life and her travels
(Y’all I made a new part!! So post your recomments in it!)
Sultaan:
”Did you ever get to hold one?” He signed, adjusting the flower behind Reba’s ear when they started walking. “I think I kinda know another orphan that may love lizards.”
Callum:
He sighed and shook his head as the hope that had sprouted in his heart just for Kilroy, wilted. He wondered if Fig had ever really tried to teach and discipline his child when Kilroy was in fact young enough. If Fig ever loved him enough to realize that his son would grow up accordingly.
Callum shook his head again. “I suppose I’ll pay a visit, and then go beg for another ambassador,” he said.
Rimecrest:
He watched the two yearlings interact with pricked ears, but guilt and grief, mixed in with a little hurt lingered behind his grey eyes. It was getting toward the evening time, so the wind began to die down a little more. Rimecrest fluffed his wings and folded them.
“I’m sor- please forgive me,” he corrected himself. Asking for forgiveness felt more genuine and meaningful than just saying sorry. “I didn’t mean it in that way, I promise! Grasswing is my hero- and Bumblewind, and Star, and Morningleaf.” He chuckled a little. “Okay, I have a lot of heroes. But I meant what I said as a compliment. I swear I wasn’t thinking about the whole story of Graythorn.”
Bhearit:
”Ay! Definitely. There’re so many details to my project, and just a couple hours ago I hit a stump,” he replied and his expression darkened a little when he remembered that fact. He still hadn’t figured out anything, even in all this time
emberflight:
"i'm sorry thornhill"
@Ravendove
Carmela: She still made no motion, only meeting Topaz's eyes and waiting for instructions.
Fig: He led Callum through the hallway and down to the mess, the smell of cooking food growing stronger. "He probably did visit his mother. As for his abandoning you, I can't completely explain that... but as a kid he could be... deceitful.
"There was a time some other students asked him to give them the answers during the test in exchange for candy. He agreed, but he gave them the wrong answers... the teacher told me when he aced the test and the rest of the class failed. You might say it was moral of him... but he still ate the candy. He wouldn't confess to the teacher until I pressured him."
Reba: She accepted the flower and tucked it behind her ear. "Thank you," she said, before switching signs. "They were tan, like the sand, with black stripes around their eyes and small horns."
Colchi: "No, I understand," he chuckled, remembering the hours of childhood spent scrubbing the grubby dishes clean. He cocked his head and closed his eyes. "The difficult part would be getting the water, right, and controlling it. And you're still working out what type of soap to use right?" He opened his eyes again, excited.
Ben:
His subconscious mind kicked in, and though he was asleep, he felt the warmth of Rayla next to him. A ghost of a smile tugged at his lips, which softened his features.
Groggily, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him, muttering something about ‘not wanting her to catch a cold.’ His front legs intertwined with her’s, their hooves clacking together softly, before Ben relaxed again.
(not sure what else to make him do? Are they both going to sleep now?)
Thornhill:
His eyes widened more as he stared at Emberflight, slightly horrified and shocked. “He was legendary because he was killed! Yes, he was Grasswing’s son but he was dropped into Dawn meadow as if he meant nothing. He was a sacrifice to threaten and intimidate. His story was not a happy one.“ Thornhill’s wings rattled and he swallowed again. “I’m proud of my name and I’m proud of who it represents, but it doesn’t change the fact that Graythorn was executed and we are in the same situation that he was in a century ago.”
emberflight:
"I'm emberfight" she went closer to thornhill and coalwing "you should be proud thornhill greythorn was a legend!"
Thornhill:
The little colt stared up at Rimecrest as something in his eyes brightened at the mention of Greythorn. “My momma picked my name…I was named after Graythorn.” He replied skittishly, but returned a small smile. It surprised him that this Mountain herd steed knew so much about the legends, especially the legends concerning Sun herd.
A heavy sense of deja vu washed over Thornhill like a sickening wave; Greythorn got captured by Mountain herd and he shares a name with Thornhill. And now, here Thornhill is- in Mountain herd territory- a captive, just like Greythorn. Thronhill swallowed heavily and suddenly started trembling. Greythorn was executed; his wings broken and dropped from the cloud layer into the Dawn meadow to send a message to Sun herd. Is that what Rimecrest was trying to say?! Was Thornhill going to be the next Greythorn; a sacrifice and a threat?
(I know that’s not what Rimecrest was saying, but to Thornhill it makes sense to connect the two)
Rimecrest:
He pricked his ears in a little surprise. “Your name reminds me of the name of Grasswing’s son, Graythorn,” he said with a smile, hoping Thornhill would take it as a compliment. “I don’t really know any pegasi that have the word thorn in their name.”
Thornhill:
He looked up at Coalwing, then back to Rimecrest. There was something compassionate about Rimecrest; a compassion that none of the other Mountain herd steeds possessed. Rimecrest almost reminded the young colt of Callum; both were genuine and understanding, and that made Thornhill feel more at ease. He didn't trust the foreign stallion completely, but the fact that he was here, talking to captives, and risking discovery spoke loud enough.
Thornhill blinked then exhaled, "Th-Thornhill..."
Coalwing:
“Hm?” He had been watching the pegasus authorities when he turned his head and looked down at Thornhill.
Rimecrest:
He looked at Thornhill and sighed, nodding understandably. “That’s okay,” he said, offering a smile. He wished he could get closer- who knows how long these captives have been here. They were probably gonna die from boredom. Speaking of dying, what were his people going to do with them when it came nighttime? They would freeze to death up here.
Rimecrest dared an inch closer. “My names Rimecrest, if you wanted to know, which I doubt you did,” he added with a shrug of his wings.
Thornhill:
Rimecrests' question made him pause and he took a large step closer to Coalwing, unsure what to do or what to say. He looked up at his over-stallion for guidance. This stranger seemed like a kind pegasus with genuine interests, but he was still a stranger; Thornhill knew better.
They didn't know this stallion. The only thing they knew about him was that he was a Mountain herd steed, and frankly, Thornhill's first experience with their foreign, northern neighbors has not been a pleasant one. He swallowed and shook his head.
(recomment for @Earthquake)
Avery:
She grinned as she approached Cole and finished the braid at the same time, “Nope! I’ve got it,” Avery said and expertly tied a band around the tips of her hair to keep the braid in place. She looked up at Cole and nodded eagerly. “Oh, perfect! And yes, I’m ready.” She eagerly glanced towards Cole then reached out and grabbed his hand, “Lead the way!”
Rimecrest:
His stomach churned at the thought of his own herd being first to break the peace probably among all the five herds, again. Why did they always have to be the bad guys? Why couldn‘t it be someone else for a change? Or no one at all, ever?
Rimecrest swiveled his ears and eyed the huddled group of Sun Herd steeds with a little compassion. “What’re your names?” He asked softly, but in a genuine way, like he really wanted to get to know them. And he did. Somehow he had a feeling that, even as unimportant as he was, he couldn’t let things turn out this way with a loop of kidnappings, wars, and constant hostility.
(OH I HAVE AN AWESOME PLAN!! Rimecrest is total history geek and Star fan, right? His views are based on Star’s, and he believes in an united, peaceful Anok STRONGLY, correct? Well, that could influence him to help Thornhill, Emberflight, and Coalwing!!!)
Thronhill:
He was shocked, to say the least. He was shocked that this Mountain herd stallion almost seemed considerate and empathetic towards them. "W-Well...Y-Yeah, it's bad." He remarked with his head chocked to one side, confused. "Of course it's bad! I miss my momma! And now Sun herd and Mountain herd hate each other again!"
"Something like this hasn't happened since Star was a yearling; we've been at peace with one another. Our herd is probably panicked and worried and preparing for the worst." He snorted gently before staring at the stallion, his round eyes filled with confusion and skepticism.
Rimecrest:
His jaw dropped as he sucked in a sharp gasp. “Oh my- so it’s true!?” He squeaked and then plopped onto his haunches in shock.
“Oh my stars...” Rimecrest rasped, bringing his volume down more. He covered his head in his wings. “Oh no, no no no no no. This is bad, this is very very bad. This is gonna undo everything that Star fought for! I thought Sun and Mountain Herd‘s hostility was of the past- old stories. History !“ He groaned.
Thornhill:
He frowned at Rimecrest, his eyes filled with caution and suspicion, before nodding at Coalwing, "This is our over-stallion. We got captured after he did, but we still don't know why. Aspidistrafire said something about "fixing us" but I'm not sure what she means...I just wanna go home." He mumbled that last part mostly to himself, then shifted his weight from hoof to hoof as he glanced from Emberflight to the over-stallion.
Bhearit:
He shifted his weight from one hoof to the other. “Well...” he blushed sheepishly. “It’s not all that great now that I come to think of it. I’m trying to create an automatic machine that washes dishes. You see, I got so tired of washing my dishes by hand, even if I do live alone. I can get pretty lazy, and I keep finding dishes all around my place. So I got the idea that maybe, just maybe, I could create some kind of box or something that can hold multiple items that are tin or even wood. Then you fill it up with water and soap of some kind- still working on that part, you can’t use soap bars very well with multiple dishes at a time- and then close the box up, press a button, and the boom, within a half hour to one you got clean dishes to dry and put away!“ Again he ran his hoof through the dirt. “That was my very un-detailed version of it. I’m still working on a lot of parts and all that.”
Rimecrest:
He flattened his ears at the insult. “I was just asking,” he muttered with an offended snort. “I just came down by accident because I was wondering why you all were up here. No one goes up here. I’m no one special, I promise! I don’t know why they captured you, honestly,” he replied, eyeing Coalwing. “Were you all captured- along with that stallion?” (I do want them to become friends eventually, I’m just scraping the bottom of the barrel right now to remain realistic and keep things moving)
