Merrick:
He lowered his eyelashes as he stared at the artwork. He looked from her mother, to her father, admiring the shading, color contrast, and different tones and textures she incorporated.
He lifted his eyes to Kelly, then back down at the painting. "Kelly, this is great. It looks so real." He complimented, offering a gentle grin.
"You look just like her," He added as he stared at Kelly's mother with her creamy coat and light golden hair.
Summary:
Okay so Fawnroot, Callum and Kilroy are trying to convince the pegasi that life would be better when united together, but it's still uncertain that they will succeed. Coalwing has flown off, to the much confusion of all pegasi and centaurs there. MELLY GETTING BETTERRRRRR! Sultaan, Espen and Valentina are back at the healer's room inside the hill where dah non fighters are currently because of the battle with the wolves.
Recomment for Nightmist: Heisly: She giggled. "I know right? Do you think this might have an owl or two?" She asked excitedly. Teirron: "Uhhh... well, she can't... because... she's too hurt," he replied. "You need to come to her." Teirron hoped that the old mare would believe him and follow him back to the pegasus mare he still didn't know the name of. (SOBZ NIGHTMISTTT)
(ALRIGHTY I MADE IT)
(River's comment will be put in the post, so plz put ur comments in the next part!)
(AAACK SRY I LEFT I WAS HAVING DINNER!)
Fawnroot:
Feeling Kilroy next to her, she smiled up at him, not questioning where he had been. She also noticed Callum’s scrunched face and she leaned towards him and spoke softly.
“I‘ll explain everything later. All you need to know right now is that he was a merciless, vengeful stallion who nearly decimated the entirety of Anok...twice.” She shuddered as she spoke, but shook off the name of the dead destroyer and forced her mind back on the current task.
“Well that’s good because the centaurs were starting to become impatient. Ashtohn and Rowan were freed but it wasn’t under Coalwing‘s orders-it was under mine. But, that doesn’t matter. The point is Coalwing himself didn’t allow them to be let go. He’s the one who ordered their execution.”
She looked up hopefully at Ragedirft. “How can we form peace with he centaurs if Coalwing won’t even listen to their negotiation?”
Reba: “You’ve already done so much for me!“ she told him. “I will always be thankful."
She though for a moment. “Your herd seems to have regular patrols of the coast, right? Maybe you could tell me who organizes the patrols and I could ask them to keep an eye out for more centaurs or debris from a ship!”
Ragedrift:
"You can't just pick a lead mare for the over stallion just like that," he spat.
Merrick:
He nodded, feelings his ears grow hot. "It's just a walk."
He bowed his head, folding one hand behind his back, similar to the way he greeted her when they'd first met. "Ladies first. Lead the way." He said as he straightened back up and winked charmingly to her.
Fawnroot:
She nodded then glanced to Callum, remembering that Callum didn't reign from Anok, so he wouldn't know what the hundred year star was or what happened to black foals. She swallowed and felt her heart race. "Um...Nightwing is...legend says that he was a power-hungry and ruthless pegasi. He slaughtered many and he was a destroyer. He had powers, but I'll explain that later-it's very complicated."
She explained quickly before looking back to Ragedrift. "I see. I had no idea Nightwing killed his family...So if he were he find a mate, perhaps he would be more understanding because he won't be lonely anymore?"
Ragedrift:
He looked down at the mare for so long that he appeared as though he had not heard her. But finally he spoke, “I can’t answer the question of his arrogance, besides the fact that he probably finds it natural or whatever. But as for the other question... I can say one thing. Coalwing is lonely. He has ever since he had lost his parents to Nightwing. He was a defiant colt all his life, and only had me as his friend. We were different beyond doubt, but yet we were as close as brothers. I was the more- you could say- quiet and civiliszed one and he was the absolute opposite. I was the one who practically kept him out of trouble for most instances.
“In my eyes, he really hasn’t changed much; besides the fact that he’s over stallion and is a little more dignified as an adult. But his grief and loneliness remains.” Ragedrift sighed and shook his head. “It saddens me.”
Fawnroot:
"Ah, yes, hello. We were wondering where Coalwing would fly off to if he left. He just suddenly disappeared and left the herd in chaos. Also, since you somehow know so much about our over-stallion, why is Coalwing so...arrogant? Why won't he accept change and why does he refuse to listen?" She asked gently and stepped closer to Callum, glancing around for Kilroy.
Merrick:
He grinned down at her as he also felt his ears get hot. "Just a walk. Act natural. Just a walk." He repeated to himself as he squeezed her hand and looked around the centaur's campsite. "So, where to first? Just...anywhere?"
(Me: NOW KISS
Merrick: NOO STOP IT! ITS NOT TIME YET)
Sultaan:
He smiled, his pale green eyes twinkling for a second. “I hope you won‘t just have clothes and teabags once you settle.“ His hands faltered a moment and then he added, “If you want to stay.”
Reba: “Don’t worry. You are a talking to an immigrant who has literally nothing save for the clothes on her back, 3 tea bags, and a waterlogged notebook. I’m in no position to judge you.”
(brb!! talking with family)
Sultaan:
He blushed, embarrassed, and then shrugged. ”I grew up kinda poor.”
(Me: *grins*
Kelly: *eyeballing me*
Me: *smirks*
Kelly: What? WHAT?
Me: *pinches her cheek* AW, KELLY! MELLY!)
Kelly:
She grinned, her heart pounding in her chest. For some reason, she was a bit more nervous and excited then she should be. It's just a walk! Get your self together!
Kelly looked at Merrick, and blushed.
Reba: She checked herself. “It means thinking about thinking.“ she crossed her eyes. “Pretty weird to think about.” It made sense though, that the education system here would be much less developed here than in Old World. And even in her tribe, someone of Sultaan’s situations would have difficulties obtaining an education as extensive as Reba’s.
(She‘s a bit self-entitled- she was very highly educated in her tribe, and can look down on people who aren’t)
Kilroy: He staggered to a stop, the world twisting and rolling around him. He took a deep shuddering breath, and stiffened at the sensation in his gut. With a sense of urgency, he stumbled over to a bush at a distance from the others and emptied his stomach of its contents with as much dignity as he could. He could only hope that Ragedrift was not in earshot.
(not much XD Fawnroot, Kilroy, and Callum arrived at the Grandmother tree and are looking for any sign that Ragedrift is there. And Ashtohn, Sage, Ben and Fig are all just talking about the day)
Merrick: A slight breeze picked up, ruffling his hair and sunlight filtered through the windows. He sighed in content then looked down at Kelly. “It’s nice out. Want to go for a walk?” He asked, then added quickly, “We won’t go far since the wolves might still be in the area, but around the campsite perhaps?”
(Me: YEEESSSSSS I KNOW THAT LOOK Merrick: NUUUHHH I KNOW THAT LOOK TOO!! -hides- Me: NO YOU DONT! LETS GO LOVERBOY -drags him out of hiding place- Merrick: EEEEE STOPPPP NOOO)
(HI! What'd I miss?)
Sultaan:
”Metaphysical?” He signed with a raised eyebrow and looking as though he had spoke the question. “Sorry, I’m not that much educated.”
Ashtohn:
He smiled but then it vanished, falling into a dark expression of confused seriousness. “Did the wolves attack?” He asked, pulling Sage closer to him.
Fig: “Happy news! That’ll show those wolves, no longer kings of the land are they?”
(Sorry for the wait guys!)
Kilroy: “Yes!” he said, forcing a smile as he began running along behind the pegasus. To distract himself, he considered how he could use Coalwing’s lie to his advantage. Maybe he could bring up Cloudflame casually, as a hint to Coalwing. He would try to present it as a some sort of strain on his legacy...
Black spots began to bloom across his vision. Shoot, he thought, and forced himself to run faster by imagining Avery singing something quick and peppy, with a good beat and in an interesting key.
Fig: “No thanks, my friend. This smells delicious.” he told Ben. “Its victory hour, after all!” he told the couple. “I‘ve too much money and nothing to spend in on.“
Ben:
He glanced up at Ashtohn and shook his head. “They usually do, but considering times are tough nowadays, I removed that rule.” He rested his elbow on the bar and smiled crookedly. “What can I get ya?”
Ashtohn:
"Do the refills cost?" He asked, stepping forward.
Fig: He was having a nice post-battle drink as he wont to over his many campaigns. Over his cider, he could not help but feel slightly melancholy. His age made it impossible for him to leap into the fray as he used to, and the thrill he got from spearing was not enough to satisfy the need for something more dangerous, more gruesome, more incredible.
He noticed a pair of young centaurs ordering food, and decided to bring up his mood by doing something for them. He strolled over and smiled at Uncle Ben. “Put that on my tab, would you?”
(So @Riverbreeze , I thought Fig would frequent the tavern so he has a tab there and knows Ben pretty well. Is that cool with you?
Sorry I have to to go now, I’ll respond to the other comments later)
(So guys, should Fig be at the tavern? I‘d think it would be an old haunt of his, and Sagtohn could inform him of their engagement so he could confirm it and put it into camp records, as he is a councilmen. Or I could leave him out so the couples have can have some good one on one romance)
Sultaan: He cocked his head. “Meditation? You mean trying to clear one’s mind? Nope, never tried that and no point in doing it. It seems to me is that all you do is try to clear your head and connect with the world when what you’re doing is filling your brain with the exact thing your trying to use to clear it!” He looked as though he was going to laugh like a natural person, but he only smiled, wishing to have the voice to laugh at all.
Ashtohn:
"Oh uh, the order is for us to share," he said hastily. "I'm not that big of a eater."
Ben:
He nodded, “Of course, sir. And what about you, m’am?“ He asked Sage, pricking his ears.
(what if Melly just went for a walk maybe? Like a walk around the camp or something idk)
Ashtohn:
He smiled broadly. “Yes, I’d like to order cheese rolls, a salad, and chicken breast. And yes, we’ll take the seats by the hearth. Thank you.” He held Sage’s hand and led her over to the fire. “Ahh, warmth, feels better doesn’t it?”
Ashtohn:
They stood at the counter and Ashtohn rung the bell for service. (River we need Uncle Ben)
Callum:
He nodded and quickly followed, glancing back at Kilroy to see if he was coming as well.
Kelly:
She chuckled. "Huh!" she said. She smiled.
(What should HAPPEN? Ooof...)
Callum:
”Funny. I never seemed to notice it,” he said, rubbing the scar on his neck thoughtfully. “Well, anyway, we should go.”
Merrick:
He smiled down at Kelly. "Nope! Won't happen again." He chuckled humorously. "I've already dropped a hot knife on myself when I was first starting out- would not recommend it and I won't be doing it again." He snorted and nodded down at his horse shoulder which had a large, red scar from where the knife burned him.
Kelly:
She looked at him and smiled softly. "You must be really happy to love your job.
"But if you get hurt, don't you dare tell me I need to clean my wounds or whatnot," she said jokingly, and smirked.
Merrick:
He smiled and nodded, "Yes I love it. I love creating weapons and watching the piece of metal bend and work in amazing ways. There's so many things a good blacksmith can do with a piece of metal. I'm not sure I could be anything else other than a blacksmith. It's hard and sometimes dangerous work, like I said this morning, but I'd not have it any other way." He said, his smile broadening.
Fawnroot:
She nodded politely and smiled up at Callum, "She was a sweet mare, always willing to help. I'm not sure why anyone could have a problem with her, much less kill her." She said blankly, remembering the mare's kind smile.
She blinked the memory away. "A place, hm? I could see how her name would be confusing. Our pegasi names are somewhat...strange. At least compared to your centaur names."
Callum:
He chuckled. “Makes sense now that I think of it. No, it‘s a name of a pegasus. Well anyway, Fawnroot is right as usual, we oughta go now if we hope to get back by nightfall.“ At this he peered toward the horizon where the sun neared every minute.
Sultaan:
He cocked his head.
Merrick:
He turned, but didn't let go of Kelly's hand. He opened the door and led her into the room. It was about twice as big as Merrick's room. It was dirty and everything was covered in a fine coat of soot. There was a worktable that stood at the center of the room, a couple different size anvils close to the massive forge in the corner farthest from them, and a bar-like window that was cut out of the wood to allow air and soot to flow from.
Merrick's master wasn't in the building, but there were a couple hammers abandoned on the worktable. There was a barrel of oil for finished blades and a barrel of water that Merrick used to clean himself with. "So, uh, yeah. This is where I work. Feel free to look around if you want." He said gently, not realizing he still gently held her hand.
(back!)
Merrick:
He grinned, but a twinge of hurt flashed in his eyes. "So..she doesn't care about me..not in the way I care for her...ugh, I'm so stupid.." He thought to himself, before recollecting himself again to hide the disappointment before it became too obvious.
"Oh..um...want to see my workshop? The inside of the blacksmith hut? It's pretty cool." He asked with a fake smile, but he hoped it looked authentic.
(gtg dinner :(
Kelly:
Her eyes widened slightly. She stiffened, and felt blush rise up her cheeks. "Yeah, I hoped she was lying," she said softly, and stared at Merrick.
She smiled softly.
Kelly:
She smiled softly, and blinked rapidly for a moment. She leaned to the side and blushed as she watched him play.
She pressed her lips together and relaxed, listening to the music.
Kelly:
She smiled and blushed slightly. She let the let her paintbrush brush against the canvas, leaving streaks of paint. She was careful, making sure to get the details right. She made his eyes big and bright, and one eyebrow raised. Then, she painted the loaf a bread, which Merrick was holding and munching on. She added a few crumbs.
Kelly made the shirt bright green, and added faint blush on his cheeks. She made his hair curly and covering half of his left eye. Every few minutes Kelly would look up at Merrick. She smiled and stepped back, eyeing the painting.
She used a darker skin color to do the shading on his face and neck. This was only a head shot, because she didn't have the time for a full body shot.
Carefully, Kelly wrote her name at the bottom, and bit her lip.
She took the painting and held up to Merrick. "What do you think?"
Fawnroot:
She snorted a laugh and nodded vigorously. "Pfft. I doubt he has brains." She turned her head to look over her shoulder and sighed. "We should probably get moving again. We still have several more miles to go." Fawnroot said and folded her wings lightly on her back and took one last sip from the little river.
Merrick:
His cheeks grew red as she stood so close to him and he felt her hands against his jaw. He blanked and it took a couple seconds for her words to register in his flustered mind. He smiled, "As you wish." He said gently and nibbled on the bread as she told him too.
He leaned against a cabinet and stood and still as he could.
Kelly:
She grinned. "You have to try not to move to much... you'll see." She stepped closer to him and put her hand under his chin, and tilted his head to the side. "Oh, and don't finish eating all the bread. I have an idea. Just take tiny bites."
Kelly pulled out one of her brushes and started painting.
Merrick:
His turned and opened the little side door to go to the blacksmith forge. “Be right back...” He mumbled, his whole face red, and closed the door. As soon as he was behind closed doors, he exhaled deeply and hid his face in his hands. He rapidly shrugged off his vest to forget the image of himself changing in front of Kelly, her bright blue eyes watching him...
Merrick began to sweat and quickly ripped off his shirt. He plunged the towel into a nearby barrel of water and began to clean his chest, neck, face, and horse body with it. Moving back to his injuries, he poured the cleaning solution over it and smeared ointment on it, then tied it with a tight bandage.
He pulled on the clean shirt and released his hair from the bun, feeling his hair fall across his face and the back of his neck.
Kelly:
Her face reddened with embarrassment. "Nope, shoo." She snorted. "Or just turn away." She rolled her eyes and raised an eyebrow, before setting her supplies on the little table.
