Ashriver flew over the ocean, her hooves skimming the salty water. She looked behind her and nickered. Her good friend, Windstorm, was following close behind her, his hooves also skimming the water. He perked his ears and nickered back. He then pumped his wings, gaining speed. Ashriver looked to her right and saw Windstorm right beside her. She perked her ears, and and idea popped in her head. The mare stopped, then fell in the deep water, sinking. Windstorm stopped and whinnied frantically. He looked down, stunned. Ashriver quickly pumped her wings, rising up to the surface. She quickly flew out, splashing Windstorm with water. "Hey!" he nickered. "Dont do that!" Ashriver answered with another splash. Windstorm snorted but returned the splash. The mare nickered. "We better get back to the shore, and back to Ocean Herd." Windstorm nodded. "We're pretty far out." Ashriver nodded also. "Let's go." She flew up into the clouds, Windstorm following. It took about an hour for them to get to the shore. Once they touched the sand, Ashriver collapsed. Windstorm walked up to her and laid his wing over her back. She looked up at him and nickered softly. She rolled onto her back, and then rolled completely in the soft sand. Windstorm joined her. Suddenly Ashriver paused. She looked up at the sky, and in the distance she could see black storm clouds. They wouldnt hit for another five or six hours, but Ashriver decided to go back to the herd. "We better get back, Moonwind and Springblaze are probably wondering where we are." Windstorm snorted when he heard the name 'Moonwind'. Both stallions loved Ashriver, and they couldnt get along. They both wanted the mare for themselves. Ashriver just snorted when she saw the two fighting on some flat hills. She didnt want a mate until she was atleast 5, and the two stallions were her friends. Springblaze was Ashriver's best friend and adopted sister though. They were raised together, since Springblaze's dam was killed by a pack of wolves and her sire was captured...never heard of again. Her sire was captured before she was born and her dam was killed only hours after she was born. She was considered an orphan to some pegasi, but Ashriver saw her as just a regular pegasus. So did Windstorm and Moonwind. Ashriver sighed at the thought. She didnt know what would happen if she didnt have her three amazing friends with her.

Windstorm nickered and pointed his wing to the ground, at Ocean Herd. Ashriver's head shot up and her perked her ears, not realizing that they were flying and back to the herd. She nickered when she saw Moonwind and Springblaze flying up towards them. "You're back!" the mare whinnied in excitement. Moonwind whinned a hello to Ashrain, but of course not to Windstorm. The stallions both snorted and stopped, staring at one another. Springblaze looked at Ashrain and rolled her eyes. Ashrain snorted in agreement. The two stallions were ridiculous. "Let's go to mother," Ashrain whispered. Springblaze nodded. Ashrain's dam, Glowcloud, was the lead mare of the herd, and she considered Springblaze as her foal. Her mate, Sparkwing, was good friends with Springblaze's sire, so he also cdered her as his foal. Ashriver was grateful.

The two young mares quickly flew away, leaving the stallions. They quickly spotted Glowcloud and landed next to her. The mare was grazing, and didnt look up, but realized who it was and nickered. "Your two friends fighting again?" Springblaze snorted. "Yes, for a crazy reason," Ashriver answered. Glowcloud looked up at them and nodded, then shrugged. "They're stallions." The two young mares nodded. Ashriver looked up at the sky pointing, changing the subject. "Do you think this storm will be bad?" she asked, pointing towards the storm clouds she saw earlier. Her dam tilted her head sideways a bit, thinking. "It'll hit at about midnight, but since the clouds are a scary black, i think it might be a little dangerous.." Springblaze nodded. "I'll go tell father." "Me too," Ashriver replied. She flew off, following her adopted sister. She had a bad feeling about the storm. A very bad feeling..
