"Ocean Herd! Gather!" Sparkwing brayed loudly. Ashriver and her friends perked their ears and flew towards the over-stallion. Once the whole herd was gather around him, Sparkwing continued. "This storm to the west has been considered dangerous and severe! We need to take shelter, and my captains and I have decided to fly to the mountains in the north." "But thats so far!" a mare whinnied frantically. "My filly will never make it!" Ashriver watched as the mare lifted her

wing, revealing a runt filly. Ashriver had to agree with the mare. The filly, and the whole herd, would never make it to the mountains in time.

Sparkwing answered the mare. "We will make it. Coalfire will give the report." Ashriver and her friends watched the main captain, Coalfire, walk in front of Sparkwing, He cleared his throat and spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. "This flight will be almost like a normal migration, but shorter. The lead mare, Glowcloud, will lead. The other captains will be spread throughout the herd. Sparkwing and I will take the tail-wind. We will fly lower then usual and fast. A few of the captains have already left, and they are searching for a big enough cave to shelter us all."

Windstorm walked up to Ashriver and nuzzled her. "Dont worry, we will make it." Ashriver looked up at him and shrugged. She didnt think so, but she didnt say anything.

Coalfire turned to Sparkwing and nodded. The over-stallion nodded back and whinnied loudly. "We are ready." Glowcloud answered by rearing and flying into the sky, telling the herd she was also ready. One by one the pegasi flew into the sky, following the lead mare. Springblaze and Darkstone flew into the front of the herd, but Ashriver, Windstorm, and Moonwind stayed near the back.

The herd flew for over an hour, and that whole hour Ashriver grew tense. She would glance at the storm, and ever minute it seemed to be moving faster. Ashriver told her sire this once, but he said it was just her being frightened.

The rest of the journey was calm, but when they could finally get a good view of the mountains, everyone could hear rolling thunder from the storm in the distance.

One time a gust of wind caught Ashriver's wing, which sent her rolling in the sky. She crashed into Moonwind, and they both started to fall out of the sky. Moonwind had regained his wings quickly, then he caught Ashriver before she hit the ground. He gently laid her on the grass. Once Ashriver got up the stallion flicked her with his tail. "Wind got you?" Ashriver nodded. "Thanks." Moonwind nuzzled her. "I'll always be there." Ashriver looked up at him, then bumped his hip with hers. "Lets go back." Once they got back Windstorm was anxious to know what happened. He flew over to Ashriver and started to look over her. "Are you okay?" he cried. Ashriver nickered. "Yes, I'm okay." Windstorm sighed and looked at her. He put his head against hers. "Dont scare me like that!" Ashriver rolled her eyes. "The wind only caught my wing. It happens all the time." Windstorm snorted. "I just want you safe.." Ashriver sighed and looked towards the herd. "Lets catch up." Moonwind and Windstorm nodded and followed her. They got back to the herd quickly, and the rest of the flight was calm.

The mountains were easier to see after flying for three hours. The storm was too. It was getting dangerous. But Ashriver knew that they would make it. The storm would hit in about 2 hours, but the herd would arrive at the mountains in less than an hour.

About forty five minutes passed, and Glowcloud whinnied loudly, announcing their arrival at the mountains. It was only almost an hour from midnight, an hour before the storm hit, but they made it.
