"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Morningleaf screamed. Her eyes fluttered open, and she jolted upright. It was dark. Where was she? She looked around. She was with Star and the rest of her friends, including Brackentail sleeping next to her. She looked at the sky. The full moon was in the middle of the huge, black roan pasture. She inhaled and exhaled deeply. She slowly turned herself over and checked Star's head. He was fine. Suddenly, everything blurred. It took Morningleaf a moment to realize that she was crying. Then, pain. Horrible pain. It pinned her down to the ground, making her double up and wheeze. Pain. Cold, piercing pain in her belly. Her mind raced in fear as understanding slammed her from behind with such force she was sent sprawling forwards: she was pregnant and was about to have a foal. The push that the understanding had given her had also given her a head start to rush over where Sweetroot was. "Whoah! Whats wrong?" Sweetroot asked. Morningleaf breathlessly informed her about what was happening. Sweetroot's face paled. "Follow me," she said as she ran into a thicket. Morningleaf galloped after her, struggling to keep up and in pain. A few hours later, the sun began to rise. Streaks of pink, orange, and yellow exploded from the blazing circle that was surfacing from the ground. "STAR!!" Sweetroot shook Star. He jolted awake. "What is it? What's wrong?!" He asked, fear clutching his gut. When he saw Sweetroot's expression, which was happiness, he stopped pacing, his mind stopped racing, and his mind slammed into focus as she spoke these words: "Come meet your new filly, Star. She's with Morningleaf."
