YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!!! I redesigned the Herds of The Guardian Herd for my story! I hope you like them!!! Let me know which one is your favorite!! (Mine might be Cavern Herd). I'll post a map of the Herd territories soon!!!

ASH HERD:

-Descendants of Desert Herd Steeds

-They live in Ancient Desert Herd territory

- Their wings are shades of yellow and gold

-Their body/wing shape and size is that of ancient Desert Herd

-They are the fastest fliers in Anok

-They have the largest military

-Their Territory, a wide-open desert, makes it easier for them to practice flight drills and to keep watch for enemies and/or predators from their perches on the Red Rock Mountains

-They can fly in the Jet Streams, and keep the secret as to the ability to SURVIVE flying in the Jet Streams WITHIN the Herd itself

-One of TWO herds with Sky Herders (Crag Herd being the second)

-Their coats are mainly buckskin, dun, chestnut, red roan, or palomino

-They haven’t changed much, if at ALL due to their herd being SUPER strict with their bloodlines

RIVER HERD:

-Black has become a semi-common color within this herd for coat colors, but a black COAT does NOT mean they earn the starfire, and most have black SOMEWHERE on their bodies.

-They’re one of the best fed herds of Anok

-They mainly have quarrels with Grass Herd

-They are led by a Council instead of a Lead Mare and Over-Stallion

-The Council is made up of a member from each group (A stallion chosen by the Under-Stallions to represent them, the Head Captain, a mare chosen by the mares to represent them, a Yearling chosen by the yearlings, the Medicine Mare, and the Head of the Council chosen by all of River Herd)

-They’re slow and methodical, not wanting wars or battles, but WILL fight if they feel it’s necessary

-It takes longer for them to come to decisions due to the Council HAVING to be unanimous in their decisions, and, most of the time, they argue about what the best course of action IS.

-They live in Western Sun Herd Territory and along a PORTION of the Western Coast of Anok, as well as Crabwing’s Bay (They DEMANDED that their territory be allowed to include Crabwing’s Bay)

GRASS HERD:

-The most colorful and vibrant of the herds, and can have all colors of the rainbow in their feathers, and most known horse coat colors and patterns (All of them except for black, that color is exclusively for River Herd steeds)

-They are led by an Over-Stallion and Lead Mare

-They are one of the best fed Herds in Anok, and their army is well fed and trained.

-They dislike their River Herd neighbors, a LOT. So much so that they wage a CONSTANT war with them, although there ARE some breaks in the fighting. They are the ones that mostly initiate the fights between the two herds.

-They are the most aggressive herd

-Most Herds are scared of their steeds

-Most ARE ruthless and bloodthirsty

CAVERN HERD:

-Mainly descendants of Jungle Herd Steeds

-Their coats mainly range from brown and bays, but can have some grays in the mix

-Their wings are usually browns and greens, but they CAN have darker and earthier tones to other colors

-They tunnel under the ancient Jungle Herd Territory, creating a whole network of caverns and tunnels beneath the surface

-No steeds under the age of 2 can ever leave the tunnels, and even then, they NEED to have a specific job (Sky Watchers) to leave the tunnels.

-Cavern Her has two main jobs, Tunnellers and Sky Watchers. Tunnellers dig out and fortify the caverns and tunnels beneath the surface, and Sky Watchers watch the land and skies for enemies and predators. There ARE still battle mares and warriors, as well as Captains, but those are more of a do a bit of everything kind of job. They CAN sometimes leave to the surface, BUT they can’t leave without good reason (Ex. A battle patrol is seen by the Sky Watchers approaching Cavern Herd Territory), they mainly help the Tunnellers.

-They’re EXTREMELY secretive, so much so that the other herds aren’t even sure they exist.

-They are more of a myth to the others

MOON HERD

-Descendants of mainly Snow Herd

-They’re large and broad (Think Draft Horses)

-They come in mainly grays and whites, with SOME other shades like blue and red roans

-Their feathers are diluted colors of other colors (Ex. Light blues, light greens, light pinks, etc.)

-Their hooves are feathered

-They’re strong swimmers

-They’re the strongest herd, but also one of the kindest. Willing to extend a helping hoof to whoever needs it

CRAG HERD:

-Mainly descendants of Mountain Herd and Desert Herd

-Mainly shades of grays, roans, and chestnut

-They have feathers in shades of blues, greens, golds, and yellows

-They’re slightly taller than the ancient Mountain Herd steeds, but shorter than the ancient Desert Herd steeds

-Even with their Desert Herd ancestry, they cannot fly in the Jet Streams, they do not have the physical attributes to do so, NOR do they know the secrets of how to fly IN the Jet Streams

-They’re the SECOND most aggressive herd after Grass Herd

-Their army is well fed and well trained, especially with the large territory that they have

-They will defend their honor, and prize that above all else. When their honor comes into question, they WILL fight you to the death to retain the honor the other herd believes they have lost

-Their mares have a foal every year.

WIND HERD:

-Descendants of the original Wind Herd steeds

-They are terrorized and bullied by the other herds

-Even though they were supporters of Nightwing in the Ancient Past, they are now a kind and honorable herd.

-They are sandwiched between Grass Herd, Moon Herd, and River Herd, kept on a small sliver of territory, keeping their herd small and, therefore, ‘Easy To Defend the Loyal Herds From’

-They have a mixture of colors, but are mainly grays, roans, and dapples.

-Their body type is larger and more muscled than some of the other herds, with only Moon Herd being larger.
