"STAR! MORNINGLEAF!!" Shadepebble whinnied loudly, quickly flying to Dawn Meadow. Star and Morningleaf pricked theirs ears. "What?" Morningleaf cried. "Whats wrong?" Star added. Shadepebble landed, out of breath. "Its about Riversun!" she whinnied. Morningleaf's eyes widened. "What about her?" "She's with Brackentail! Riversun is planning on killing Star with her starfire!" Shadepebble said. "What?!" Morningleaf cried. Star snorted and stomped his hoof. "That's not going to happen without a fight." Shadepebble nodded. "And Morningleaf... if Riversun kills Star.. Brackentail is going to make you his!" Star reared and brayed loudly "No one takes Morningleaf from me!" He landed and looked at Shadepebble, his nostrils flaring. "When is Riversun attacking?" "Tonight," she answered. "Then we better make a plan, and fast." Morningleaf nodded. "Then lets make that plan."

Brackentail snorted. "That sneaky filly.. she heard our plan!" Riversun stomped her hoof. "What is this mare's name?" "Shadepebble, she is a friend of Star's." The yearling nodded. "We better change our plans." Brackentail nodded. "I have an idea. Star and Morningleaf usually sleep together away from the herd, usually by Feather Lake, maybe one night we can sneak up on them. You can kill Star quickly, and I can take Morningleaf." Riversun nodded. "That's not a bad plan, I'll think on it." Brackentail nodded. "I hope we can do it tonight. Im ready." Riversun was pleased.
