Alright! I have come up with two scenarios based around Dragon’s central idea of the herd of mares and whatnot. It would be the second thing she suggests in my FanFiction Debate..... post. So the first scenario is equally good to the second;
1.) A herd of mares manages to escape the grasp of Nightwing and travels all the way north where most pegasi have never traveled before. The only problem is that they believe the old lands are completely wiped out because of Nightwing, and the only stallion in the herd happens to be the over-stallion. To avoid in-breeding, the over-stallion and lead-mare suggest the mares find mates within the nearby horse herds. This idea works perfectly, and many healthy newborn colts and fillies are born to the herd, all of different lineage. Then, the over-stallion, seeing that they have recovered their population, decides to outlaw the breeding of pegasi and horses, and they are no longer to create the pegasus/horse mix where they are bigger, smaller wings, and better endurance. So, the pegasi occupy the southern part of this new land and the horses occupy the north.
Eventually, the pegasus herds split because of their own differences, and the fact that they are supposedly made for war. The horses, on the other hand, have to split because of starvation and how big their population is becoming. There are four horse herds and 4 pegasus herds, and two capitals. MoonAge is the capital herd of the pegasi, and SunAge is the capital herd for the horses. Then, war erupts for whatever reason (haven’t figured one yet) and I‘m thinking of calling it the Ruptured War, inspiration taken from A Winter’s Promise. Nightmist is born to the over-stallion of MoonAge, and, because fate is utterly terrible, Flare is born to the over-stallion of SunAge :/ . AND, BECAUSE I’M SO EVILLLLLLLL, (Really, ‘twas Dragon’s idea lol) they fall in love, which is considered the highest offense in both SunAge and MoonAge. It can be punished with treason, or banishment to the lands south that is supposedly destroyed by Nightwing.
2.) Again, a herd of mares manages to escape the grasp of Nightwing and travels all the way north where most pegasi have never traveled before.
The only thing different is that it’s a REALLY. SLOW. ROMANCE. XD Again, inspiration from A Winter’s Promise, one of the best series I’ve read so far. So, the Ruptured War has been going on for 2 years when Flare is born to the leaders of SunAge, and it has been going on for 3 years when Nightmist is born to the leaders of MoonAge. After another year of warmongering and terrible battles between the horses and the pegasi, the horses finally decide they are tired of fighting. They propose a treaty between the pegasi and the horses in the form of a marriage between the daughter of the leaders of MoonAge and the son of the leaders of SunAge. If the marriage doesn’t work and the two revoke the marriage, than the horses will either drive the pegasi from their land or wipe them out completely.
The only problem is, the two hate each other.
So, which plot line would you guys like better? I won’t state which one I’d prefer to write, because I don’t want to sway you, but please vote honestly! You don’t have to vote, but if you can give me feedback on a possibly different plot line from these two, than that would be great! Thanks guys! :D
-Nightmist
OOOOFFF I need more votes before I can start writinggggg
both I like them both
Thank you! And the first one was Dragon’s idea lol
I like both ideas from dragon! But I would have to go with the second choice. In my opinion the Romeo and Juliet plot line is vastly overused. With the stakes high for both capitals, it would be constant pressure for Flare and Nightmist to get along. By having them instinctively dislike each other they would be challenged to find a way to cooperate and eventually have to work with one another.
Oof I can’t wait to start this storrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy
