(well here's all three of Bluemoon's backstory scenes! (seen in flashbacks)

Bluemoon glided across the field after Sunglow. "Wait for me!" she called. Their father Goldfire, who was a high-ranking captain in the army, trotted up to Sunglow. "Where were you?" he asked with concern. Sunglow nickered playfully. "We were at the pond!" "Just make sure to tell your mother and me when you go there, and be careful" Goldfire said, flicking his tail. "You know it can be dangerous there if you're not." "I can take care of myself!" Sunglow laughed. Bluemoon watched as Goldfire and their mother Skyleaf, a sky herder, led Sunglow over to the shade underneath a tall pine tree. Bluemoon landed and trotted over to join them. "Oh, hi Bluemoon!" Skyleaf said. Bluemoon nuzzled her mother, but saw that all of Skyleaf's attention was focused on Sunglow.

Bluemoon flew across the meadow, veering slightly to her right. She landed, then cantered through the trees to her destination. Bluemoon watched the army and sky herders train from behind a stand of trees, imitating a couple of their moves pretty well. She watched Goldfire, then reared, spinning around and flaring her wings slightly to keep her balance. Next, she practiced the tight turns that Skyleaf and the other sky herders were doing. She really wanted to be seen, for her parents to be proud of her, but it always seemed like she could never be good enough. Sunglow would always be the favorite.

Ravensky whinnied from the top of a hill, calling the herd. "We gather here today to celebrate three new monitors!" she neighed. "Pinewind," she said, holding out his dark green emerald. "Sunglow," she continued, giving Sunglow a fiery amethyst. "And Bluemoon!" Bluemoon walked up to Ravensky to receive her gem, which was the blue-black of the sky at midnight. Sunglow nickered to her sister and friend. "I can't believe we're going to Earth for the first time!" Bluemoon nodded excitedly. Goldfire pulled Bluemoon aside right before they left. "Please, protect Sunglow" he said, concerned. Skyleaf looked at Sunglow in concern, barely noticing her other daughter. Bluemoon nodded. "I promise I'll protect her." Bluemoon did not break her promises.
