Dustwing- "Thank you but as much as I respect your offer, I don't think it is a good idea to attack. These wolves were obviously scared away by something. Timber wolves don't just get scared away. And they aren't here to mate. Their mating grounds are north of the trap. If they were this scared we wont be able to drive them back. I think we should sent a scouting mission. Choose five of your strongest steeds and I will choose five of mine and we can go investigate. Raincloud you are welcome to come along."

(I'm back! Sorry this is later that I expected to come back on, but I read the comments from yesterday since there weren't too many, and I'm making part two right now.)

(Sorry I missed a bunch. I had a huge 2-day lacrosse tournament and I was gone for most of yesterday and today. But IM BACK YAAAAA!!!! *starts choking*)

Raincloud:

She stayed a few winglengths back and up from her son, not wanting him to think she was overreacting. Raincloud surveyed the ground far below her, watching as the wolves drew closer with each gnarling step.

She couldn't deny it now.

She flew towards Dustwing, descending and hovering just next to Ashray soundlessly. "Dustwing, I and my battle mares will willingly fight the wolves by your side, if you allow us," she spoke, and she saw Ashray turn, startled, to face her.

The lead mare waited for the opposing over stallion's response.

Ashray:

When he say the canyon in the distance, he signaled for his group to stay behind as he flew up to look down into the canyon. It was confirmed. There was a pack of around 14 timber wolves heading southeast towards the quarantine where all the Desert Herd pegasi were held up, including his parents.

Why were they this far south? Ashray didn’t know much about this land, but he did know that timber wolves thrived much farther up north, into the density of The Trap. What had brought them this far into the Interior of Anok? He blended back and caught up with his father’s captains, conversing with them. His plan was to possibly force the wolves back North, into The Trap where their home was.

But he would wait for Dustwing to come and hear out the young over-stallion’s opinion, but in the mean-time he landed his platoon on the plateau far above the wolves in the canyon to rest. He stood as lookout, constantly observing the wolves that were traveling even farther Southeast. He worried for the safety of his herd, and his unborn sibling.

Then he noticed something odd. The wolves no longer seemed on the hunt, but almost like they were fleeing from some great predator. But that didn’t make any sense. This pack of 14 timber wolves could easily take down a full grown Male bear. Then what were they afraid of?

He felt a ominous chill travel the length of his spine. Perhaps Rainwing, the over-stallion who had sent this herd to this very place, had something to with it, but he highly doubted it. Then he saw an even more worriesome sight. Another pack of timber wolves, this time a much smaller one, consisting of only 4, came bursting into the canyon to join the other pack.

What in all of Anok was going on? This was certainly a strange sight, considering timber wolves didn’t normally converge like this. It was mating season, and that could be a possible reason, but these wolves had fresh wounds and he could smell the waves of fear emanating off of them.

When Dustwing finally arrived, Ashray turned to him and dipped his head. “Sir, we are grateful for your help. I believe these wolves are either coming together to mate, or something has scared them this far. Jsut a few minutes ago, another pack, this one of only four wolves, came bursting off the side of the ravine to join the other pack. I do not wish to harm them, only to drive them back to The Trap where their homeland is, for I do not believe they are equipped for this significantly warmer climate,” he finished, waiting for the over-stallion to speak.

(Gtg for tonight, bed time, and WOO THAT WAS A LOGN COMMENT xd )

Sunfire-

Sunfire was making sure that Desert herd would be safe, as the Over-Stallions son asked him to do. He was prancing in place nervously, he was itching to know if the Timber Wolves were a threat to the herds he knew Ashray's platoon was not enough if the wolves turned out to be a threat, he hoped that Dustwing was sending out another platoon to help them if it turned out to be a threat, but even that might not be enough. Sunfire trotted over to the shade of a nearby tree hoping it would calm him down, but even that did not help, worrying about the safty of both herds, he tried to calm himself down by making sure Desert Herd would be safe.

(Oof I said HE alot)

( Wait, Scorchwing is is Dawn Herd? I thought he was at the quarantine two miles away, and that Vixinleap was sent to warn Dawn Herd and ask them to bring additional help while Ashray went to go an see what was up with the wolves? )

Dustwing- "Wolves don't retreat. 15 to 30 steeds wont be able to take them down. I am going out to make sure that fool hearty young stallion doesn't make any rash decisions. I have nothing against him but he doesn't know these animals like us." He said. "Hazelwood go ahead and see what their up to we will be right behind you. She set off and with a flick of his tail a small scout of steeds set out with Dustwing in the lead. "Also Scorchwing, I saw your mate fly off after your son. Are you aware of this?" He said as he was about to take off.

( May I just say, that in book four, the timber wolves seemed VERY aggressive towards Bumblewind and them lot xD )

Vixinleap:

“Why do you think we are approaching from the east?” Vixinleap said to Hazelwodo. “And there are no other wolves in the area. No other wolves have come this Far East, or south, and this is the biggest pack I’ve ever seen. And they are hunting the blood they smell on the pegasi back in the quarantine.“ Then he looked back to Dustwing. “The Desrt Herd leader’s son has already taken a platoon to scout out the wolves and make sure they really aren’t hunting, but they’ll need backup if the wolves are hunting, or if they find the thing that has driven them this far east. I suggest sending a platoon of at least 15 steeds, and at most 30. If we can drive them back into The Trap, then no one will die, and no wolves will have to die. I am only a messenger, of course,” He finished humbly, and waited for Dustwing’s reply.

Hazelwood- She was informed by the desert herd steed that there were timber wolves on the prowl. These wolves weren't very aggressive unless they were hunting. Plus they always hunt from down wind. It was a bad move to attack the wolves cause they can call for many others. The only time pegasi needed to attack these wolves was to defend themselves. "WHOA WHOA WHOA WOAH............................WOAH. Hold your land horses." She said while waving her arms. "First of all these wolves cal call for backup that can take down a whole battalion. So I suggest that we send scouts to see where they are and weather or not they are going to attack. They always hunt down wind and I smell them from upwind. When Im on patrols I see that a lot of them live north of these swells so they could be just passing by." She said sounding more like an over stallion than she meant to. Then she realized everyone was staring at her. She got nervous and crouched down. "Or maybe Ill just stand over there" She squeaked as she walked "over there" nervously waiting for their answer.
