In February, I was in a car accident in our family mini van. I was there, my mom was there, my step dad was there and my two little sisters were there too. It was a head on collision, and we were hit by a work van. My family is so so blessed. No one broke anything, only bumps and bruises. I saw something that will never ever disappear from my memory. Ever. In the drivers seat of the work van, I saw a man with a bloodied cheek, leaning against the window, his eyes closed. And there was, in the windshield of our van, a little rectangle hole where the ladder hit our van. I've got a predicament. We just bought a new mini van, 216 days later, and we had to ride in it yesterday. I was terrified. I don't know if I can tomorrow to go to school. Anyone got any tips on how to deal with it? Thanks y'all!

Oh my gosh! I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner! I’m so relieved you and your family are okay! ;9 I have a similar experience like Dragon’s, except eventually I let m fear get the best of me, and for some reason I stopped. I don’t remember saying I didn’t want to ride anymore, I think it just got to winter time and then someone finally came to take the lesson horse that I was using home, and I just never asked to go out again. What ever you do, do NOT make the same mistake I did! Even right now, I’m trying to correct my mistake by thinking about my past and then letting it go! I also always consult with my mom when I’m feeling terrible, and most of the time she tells me I’m either being paranoid or utterly silly xD Guess I’m just too cautious lol
This really did help.
Thank you guys.
I've never ben in a car accident and I'm so so so so so happy that you and your family is safe! I would say, no matter what happens, God is always with you. We all feel afraid sometimes, but here are some Bible verses that help me when I feel the same way:
-Be strong and courageous...for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1;9)
-So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41;10)
-God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46;1)
-Tell everyone who is discouraged, be strong and don't be afraid! God is coming to your rescue! (Isaiah 35;4)
I hope these help!
woah... quite a story. are you doing alright? if you need someone to talk to, we're all here. if you're having traumatic stress episodes, though, I suggest you consult a professional.
That is quite a story Mossbrook, and I'm so glad you and your family is safe. Getting over something like that has got to be rough, and it sounds like you may be dealing with a bit of PTSD so if this continues it might be a good idea to speak to a professional.
I have never been in a car accident that really terrified me (I've only been in one, and it was incredibly minor), but about a year ago I had a kinda scary experience while I was talking horse back riding lessons. Basically what happened was I was practicing doing a small figure 8 pattern in the corner of the arena, and someone opened the door at the other end. When this happened, one of the other horses in the arena spooked, a ditched his rider, this caused the horse I was riding to bolt. Luckily I was able to stay on and regain control of my horse after a few seconds, but after this I was pretty scared that something like this could happen again, and if it did I wouldn't be able to get in control, so it took me a few lessons before I was feeling comfortable again. I know that this isn't anything close to what happened to you, but my trick to start being more relaxed, was to focus on other things, and not allow myself to replay the scene in my head during the lesson
Wow! I'm so glad you're all okay! Oh my goodness 0.0
