@Ashsong !!! I showed my friend (we'll call her Nightingale) the picture you drew for me of Ryndi Braze from DOTR. And she loved it! She's currently writing a book series (I'm editing, it's going well! She's probably going to get it published!) And she asked me to ask you if you would consider drawing some of her characters for her! Of course, you can turn it down if you want to. :) If you decide you want to draw them, she'll give me descriptions of her characters. Obviously we have no way of paying you, but we're all teens. It would be for fun, mostly.
Anyway, only if you want to!
@Ashsong
Ashsong, Thanks again for an amazing work of art! Lyra looks absolutely perfect. You really captured her gentle, shy beauty. No worries about the wait. It was absolutely worth it. :) Tell me when you're up for another via Iceberry. Looking forward to your next masterpiece, -Nightingale
*embarrassed* Dang I can't draw as good TwT
SHES SOOO CUTE!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! YOUR ART IS SOO GOOD @Ashsong !!
(Also, @Iceberry, send my apologies to your friend, Nightingale, as well. She was waiting for so long. Bruh, I feel so bad)
@Iceberry HEEYYY I FINISHED IT AAAA
prbly don’t wanna request art from me again lol 😬😬
I‘m SO SO SO SOOOO SORRY!!! Here it is!
I made it so that you could crop her portrait out if you wanted
@Ashsong Do you know when Lyra will be done? :)
@Ashsong
Ashsong,
I cannot thank you enough for the illustration. When I opened the text Iceberry sent me, I was absolutely thrilled to see the boy who so often strides through my thoughts walk across the page. Your skill is incredible, and I'm so glad you're taking the time to breathe life into characters. Would you mind terribly if I used them in my books? Naturally, I would write your name on the cover, but I unfortunately cannot pay you for them at the moment. If I can eventually get these published, I would love to have a conversation about compensation.
Looking forward to your reply, and eagerly awaiting your next masterpiece,
-Nightingale
That's great! I haven't finished Lyra yet. Mostly because it's been so busy with Christmas and family and stuff, not to mention other art things I've been doing!
@Ashsong I'm BACK!! Ricardo looks AMAZING!!! I just sent it to my friend!!
FIXED IT!!
Oh no!! I just now realized I did the wrong hand for the chain!!! Aaaa
Sry if you don’t see any little knife thingies, I legit had no clue how to put that on there. Are the knives visible all over his body? I can add them and repost the pic
Okay!! FINALLY I finished Ricardo. Here he is. I’m gonna do Lyra now!
@Ashsong I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! I won't be very active for the next week or so, so we'll have to talk more once I have full access again (long story). Anyway, Nightingale gave me descriptions for two of her characters in the series, which is Christian fantasy. I will ask her for a full description of the series as well.
But here are the two characters:
Ricardo:
Ricardo Astuto is seventeen. His features are somewhat Hispanic, but he has a noticeably lighter skin tone than most. He is incredibly handsome, with chocolate brown hair cut just above his shoulders. Small knives no longer than a finger are concealed within it, braided into his hair, out of sight unless the light catches them at the correct angle. A friendly smile is always on his face, no matter the situation, but there is something brazenly artificial about it. Most notably, because of his eyes. His jaded chocolate brown eyes are filled with a burning, passionate anger and hatred, laced with an abiding misery. Their gaze seems to pierce the recipient’s soul. No one can stare into them for long. His eyes are easily the only expressive part of his face. He never laughs, never cries, never glowers. His personality is amicable, sly, friendly, joking and happy-go-lucky, but never seems sincere. He wears a black leather jacket over his white, short sleeved tee shirt, blue jeans and black boots. Though, when simply walking, he does not visibly carry a weapon, he has fifty knives all over his person, counting the ones mentioned in the above. He is tall and athletic, his build not overly muscular but certainly not lithe. His hands are calloused and rough, but have the nimblest touch. His left wrist, concealed by the jacket, is heavily scarred. From it streams a ghostly, translucent chain, glowing softly, barely visible in bright sunlight. It marks him as a slave. It marks him as cursed. It marks him as owned. His back underneath his clothing has lash scars, and he has other various marks on his arms and legs. A necklace is tucked into his shirt.
Lyra:
Lyra Sallis is sixteen. Her skin is fair, without a single callus or scar to taint it. Save, that is, for a single burn on her chained left wrist. Her black hair is straight, reaching down her back in a glossy curtain. Her light blue eyes are pure and innocent with long, dark eyelashes. She is slender, curvy and delicate. Her face is not entirely filled out and slightly round, showing her youth. She carries no weapon when simply roaming. Her smile is gentle, sweet and shy. She is generally kind but quiet, rarely the first person to speak, but not unfriendly. She is the standard height for a woman, perhaps a bit shorter. She wears a simple medieval period white and blue dress, and ballet flat shoes. A golden cross sparkles around her neck. She is the picture of innocent, pure, maidenly beauty.
@Iceberry so what do you think? How are we gonna do this? So EXCITED!!
Wooooahhhh. NEVER EVER in all of my short life have I ever gotten something like thisssss. Bruuhhh. What do I do?? Do I just, like post them here and you send the pics to her? I will do digital art so that it’s cleaner! Sure! I’ll do it!! What’s the story about?
Wow! That's super cool! Congrats on you and your friend!
