So, this story was made out of a prompt. This is only part one so I hope you all enjoy!

I looked around at the destruction and chaos surrounding me. Everything was destroyed, and the sky gave off a dull, green and orange look. Just a few days ago, everything had been perfect. But now, the world was over. I had been chosen to become the new leader as we marched through our final days, but I wasn’t sure I was up for the job.
They had chosen me because of my amazing ideas, and how I could always see new ways to get out of a horrible situation, but this one was different. I had been elected by friends, family, people whom I had never met, and the entire remaining population to become a leader. I was in charge, and it was a big job.
I wasn’t quite sure what to do first, but I did remember the basic needs of pegasi. Oxygen, warmth, and food. I didn’t know anything I could do about the oxygen, and we could solve warmth by staying in large groups, but food. Food needed to be the main focus.
Everyone’s eyes were on me. Sunherd, Snowherd, and Mountainherd alike. It was sad that the other herds had been wiped out, but the fewer pegasi there were, the less resources they needed. I walked up to the platform that had been recently recognized as where announcements were to be made.
Usually I was great at public speaking, but for some reason my stomach felt like it would fall out of my throat. Three entire herds, every known survivor of the mass destruction, all with their eyes on me. It was as if they were expecting me to rebuild all of Anok.
I took the final step up the steep climb, and looked down at all of them. I didn’t know why I chose to climb, I had wings afterall, but that didn’t matter now. I had to clear my throat, in order to project out to everyone. “Can I have everyone's attention!” I called out, my voice ringing across the torn up mountains.
“As you all know, our world has been destroyed. Life as we know it cannot be sustained independently!” I tried to hide how shaky my voice was, they had put me in charge of thousands of lives and I had to come up with a plan on the spot. “Our main goal is to find food, water, and shelter. I want you all to split up into four groups! The first group will look for food! The second, water! The third will seek shelter! And finally, the fourth. The fourth will care for the weak, the old, and the young!”
Looking down at the pegasi, some seemed to shy away from the ideas, while others were cheering and yelling out encouragement for the plan. “You will be split up based on strengths and weaknesses! Former Captains of the herds, I want you to begin dividing them up! In the meantime, I want everyone to gather up the old, the weak, and young and bring them to a safe place!” With that out of the way, I spread my golden wings and began to fly down the side of the cliff. It would be better if I helped with the dividing.
