A lone boy wandered with his wolzer’s, a three-tailed wolf that could talk. They were his only companions, but they were all he needed. He enjoyed the endless cycle of scavenging, eating, and exploring.
Currently, he was traveling with the red wolzer, Autumn. “Looks like we’re going to have some weather soon. Better warn the others,” He observed. Autumn nodded. “Yup. We should hurry so we’re not caught in it ourselves! Race you back!”
She dashed off, laughing. The boy laughed as well. He pulled up his dark brown hood over his light brown hair. Shivering in the cold, he was glad for his cloak and warm boots. He had scavenged them from the nearby village.
Back there, he was known only as the mysterious “Wolfsbane”, a name the boy rather liked. But his real name was Luke. He was named after his missing father. Luke’s mother couldn’t keep him without the steady income Luke’s father had provided.
So to spare his mother the heart-ache of giving him up to the orphanage, he disappeared, leaving her only a note. He had only traveled a few weeks before he met the six wolzers, Baze, Jyn, Flurry, Pitch, and Autumn. They had welcomed him into their pack and had lived together for a year. They often traveled, and every day was an adventure.
Luke sped up, breaking into a run to try to catch up with the large dog. It took him 10 minutes to reach the cave they were using as a home. When he burst into the opening, gasping for breath, the wolf-like creatures only looked up in mild interest.
“What took you so long?” Baze asked in his high-pitched voice. Luke smiled despite himself. Once he had caught his breath, he looked at the black alpha. “Pitch, there’s a storm coming. We need to put up the door.” Pitch nodded and heaved himself up from the ground. “Baze, Jyn, pls help me.” The two brown pack members lept to their feet, excited to be doing something.
Luke sat down beside Flurry, the pure white Wolzer Beta who was pregnant. Usually, Wolzers only give birth to 1-2 pups a year, so it was a big deal.
He stroked her silky fur. “Anything you need?”
“Well, could you please start a fire? It’s getting kind of cold.”
“Of course!” He smiled and began tugging dry wood from a pile in the corner. Soon, he had a nice stack in the middle of the cave. Pitch, Jyn, and Baze had just finished weaving the cave door so there was no breeze. He pulled flint and steel from his tunic pocket and struck them together, creating a spark. Soon a warm glow filled the room as they all settled down to wait out the oncoming storm.
can I have some color descriptions?
For reference, Wolzers look like this:
The hidden bottom arrow says retractable claws. Also this really good drawing of Luke:
Ooo! I like the idea of a woltzer, and they are a cool addition to the story!
