Finally!
Chapter 5: Regret
7 days have past sense Stormsong and her friends left Storm Herd, and all them have become skinny, and tired.
“Grab her other wing!” said Thundersnow. He was talking to Emeraldsun. Both of them bit into Stormsong’s long wings, and they lifted off, with Skyfall following behind. This is what they did every day. Then, at night, they would either find or dig a small hole to sleep in. It was almost night, and the sun was starting to set.
“We can land over there,” Skyfall nodded towards a small group of trees.
They flew towards the clump of trees, and gently landed. Stormsong shoved her nose into the grass, and chomped on it, her sore wings sagging.
Thundersnow stood with them, and looked around for danger. Deciding it was safe he said, “Alright, we’ll sleep here tonight.”
The four of them dug two small holes, one for Emeraldsun and Thundersnow, and the other for Skyfall and Stormsong. They all curled up, and fell asleep.
The next morning, the sun shone overhead, warming their hides. One by one, they slowly woke up, and munched on tall grasses.
“We’ve almost reached the Territory of the Landwalkers,” said Stormsong.
Skyfall nodded. “I think we might reach them today!” she said excitingly.
Thundersnow shook his head. “It’s going to be dangerous; we’ll have to be careful,” he reminded them.
Stormsong snorted, but sudden fear washed over her. What if the Landwalkers try to kill them? What if they eat them? She shuddered. It’s going to be okay, she told herself.
Thundersnow and Emeraldsun each grabbed one of Stormsong’s wings, and they carefully lifted off. Stormsong watched the land zip by bellow her hooves, and sighed. They had lost sight of the mountains a few days before, and now it was just marshland and trees. Ahead, if you squinted, you could see larger trees, and tall hills.
They flew, and they flew, when Skyfall spotted smoke. A group of pegasi flew up ahead, and they were ridden by Landwalkers!
“We found them!” Stormsong whinnied, but her eyes widened with fear as the group tame steeds, the Kihlari, started flying straight towards them. A dark golden pinto, ridden by a curly haired Landwalker lead the group, and she raced towards them.
Thundersnow and Emeraldsun flew lower, and they landed, setting Stormsong down, and then raced towards the clouds. They hovered above the clouds, but the Kihlari didn’t follow them.
“Where are you going?!” Skyfall screamed at Thundersnow and Emeraldsun, but she stayed with Stormsong.
“Come on!” Stromsong yelled, “Let’s go!”
Skyfall followed her as she galloped away on hoof, from the Kihlari and the Landwalkers.
Stormsong wanted to scream at herself. It had been a mistake, a terrible mistake, coming here!
“Where do you think you're going?” the golden pinto asked, and she bared her teeth. Her Rider swung a rope above her head and tossed it around Stromsong’s neck.
“We come in peace!” Stormsong whinnied and choked. The curly haired Rider pulled on the rope, dragging her away.
“Ay! Jade! Get the other one!” she shouted. All the Kihlari swarmed around the two fillies like flies.
A buckskin mare with a dark-haired Rider swung a rope around Skyfall.
Wait, did Rizah go with Storm Herd? The palomino could be her descendant? AND THIS IS GREAT!
