The Snow leopard leapt into the air and landed on Wintermoon’s back. She gasped as pain shot up her neck as Leopard dug it’s sharp claws into her shoulders and bit into her

neck.

Wintermoon reared, try to shake the beast off her shoulders. The leopard lost it’s grip and stumbled backwards behind Her.

Wintermoon bolted with the leopard right on her tail. Her heart raced as she ran through the forest. She hated that she couldn’t use her wings, because the forest was so dense. As she rounded a bend, she saw a a fallen tree, way to tall for her to jump with her stubby legs, but she pushed on faster and faster and used her wings to jump over the fallen wood.

Wintermoon glanced behind her, which was proven a stupid idea. The leopard gracefully leaped over the log and jumped onto her flank in one swift movement. Wintermoon gasped as the leopard bit into her flank. She bucked and kicked, trying desperately to fling the cat off of her. The cat held on, biting deeper as the pain made her back legs buckle.

Wintermoon saw the clearing up ahead, and with a new surge of energy and strength, bolted into the clearing. The grazing pegasi looked up her as their eyes widened at the sight of the snow leopard.

“Wintermoon has brought a leopard to attack the herd!” One Pegasus yelled. ” She’s just like her father! She’s the Betrayer!” The pegasi scattered in panic but Wintermoon ignored the accusation and instead focused on bucking the beast off.

At the sight of the more muscular pegasi approaching though, the leopard finally let go and scurried back into the dense forest.

Instead of helping her or even asking if she was all right, the pegasi either went to help track down the leopard, or went back to grazing. Some even glared at her.

She was used to it though and went off to find Pebbleroot. Even though she knew she should have her wounds checked out she wanted to apologize for not bringing back any roots.
