Sun Herd had arrived in Sky Meadow two days ago. The only thing the pegasi had been talking about was the raid. Riverwing didn't think that enough foals had been born that year to sustain the herd over a long period of time, so he decided to send some of his warriors to Mountain Herd to capture weanlings. All the preparations had been made in the preceding days , and now everyone was waiting for Riverwing to trumpet the command for the warriors to set off.
Meanwhile, Ravensong and her filly friends were chatting about the possibility of making friends with the new weanlings that would be brought back.
"I hope some nice fillies will be brought back," said a buckskin filly named Thunderstone.
"Don't you feel kind of sorry for them?" Ravensong commented, who always had a compassionate heart. "They're being rooted up from their home. How would you feel if that happened to you?"
"You have a point," replied Thunderstone with a flick of her tail.
Then changing the subject, Ravensong's best friend, Moonstone, said,"I hope they bring back some cute colts."
"Oh Moonstone, all you ever do is think about colts," commented Lakesky, a white filly.
Just then, one of their yearling friends, Summerglade swooped down and he announced, "Ravensong, I just heard your father say that the warriors are about to leave!"
And sure enough, a few seconds later Riverwing trumpeted the command and the warriors lifted off and soared toward Mountain herd territory.
