"Your armor is going to look wonderful," Isla Starchaser said, watching her 6 year old daughter, Kevty, paint her armor.
Kevty smiled, her silver eyes bright with happiness, "Thanks!" she handed her mother the painted armor. Isla took the armor and helped Kevty put it on, "There you go, my little warrior."
"I'm a Mangalorian!"
"Mandalorain, dear," Isla said, smiling.
Kevty nodded, putting on her helmet, "I'm Kevty Starchaser. I'm a warrior like my parents!"
"Yes you are, little one," her father, Gade, said, walking into the armory.
She smiled and hugged her father, "You're home! You've been gone for so long!"
Gade exchanged a worried glance with his wife before he said, "I'm sorry, my mission took me longer than I thought it would."
"It's ok, Papa. As long as you always come back," Kevty said, cheerfully.
"It's dinner time," Isla said, trying to smile.
Kevty skipped down the path back to the house.
"Isla, I need to speak with you. We have a new mission," Gade said with a sigh.
"I know..... we've been gone for so long, we're rarely ever home with her, before we know it she's going to be an adult."
"This mission will be our last for a while, I was told. We'll be able to spend time with Star after this mission," he said.
Hours later, after dinner, Kevty sat in the living room with her parents.
"Star... we have another mission to go on...." Isla started to say.
"But this will be our last one for a while," Gade continued.
"It's ok, Mama, it's ok, Papa. You'll be back soon."
Isla nodded and hugged her daughter. "We'll be back before you even know we're gone, Star."
Kevty said goodbye to them the next morning, she didn't notice that her mother wasnt wearing her armor.
"We love you, Star!"
Days passed, Kevty waited for them every day. About a week after they left, their group returned. She ran to meet them, someone grabbed her and dragged her away before she reached them.
"Shhh, you have to be quiet, Star," her honorary brother, Kai, whispered.
"Where's Mama and Papa?"
"We have to go, now, Star. Trust me."
Kevty nodded and they ran to a ship.
They got on board and Kai fired up the engines.
She saw mandos getting on to ships and flying after them.
It took them a few hours to reach the place they were going. "Come on, Star."
Kevty followed Kai off the ship. He took her to a large building and knocked on the front door.
A woman opened the door, "Hello, my name is Terila, what do you need?"
"I need you to take care of my sister."
"Of course, here," she handed him a contract which he signed without looking at it.
Kai hugged Kevty, "Stay safe, Star," he then turned and ran back to the ship.
"Wait!" Kevty called after him, but it was too late, he was already gone.
"Can you shoot?" the woman, Terila, asked.
"I can shoot a little."
She stayed with the guild for 10 years, running spice, smuggling, murdering, stealing and any other job she was hired to do.
On the last mission she did for the guild, she met someone who changed her life forever....
I wonder who that someone was...And I loved it!!
Awwww cool!!
Awww! That’s sweet! Maybe Kai should have asked the Moondancers to take her in instead...but I guess since they were killed soon after, he couldn’t. That would have been interesting though! Another alternative idea...I’m getting too many...
