Nightmist had been in the herd of horses for 2 days so far but wasn't entirely sure she should stay. Her mind was like it was erased and clean and her heart, broken almost. She wondered if she would stay or if she was to go. She couldn't tell which apart because it felt like her herd didn't exist anymroe and that this herd was an illusion.

She trotted around one morning feeling better and she was only greeted with misfortune.

Horses all around her looking at her and speaking a different language that to her, sounded like their language just backwards. She twisted her ears and continued to trot around and explore. She saw a pretty dapple gray filly talking to the stallion that had saved her from that bear and decided to watch them and wait for an opening to come in.

"Olleh Flare," The filly snorted.

"Ih Luna," The stallion snorted in response.

" Ohw saw taht yllif ouy deucser?" The mare apparently named, Luna said.

"Reh eman si Nightmist," The stallion named Flare answered.

Nightmist quickly decoded their lanuage though and found out that it was their language just backwards! She smiled with her idea and trotted up and tried to immitate their language.

"O-Olleh?" She said to FLare and Luna.

Luna looked at her like she was looking at a ghost and answered.

"How do you know our language?" She answered in pegasi language swishing her tail and pricking her ears. Flare nodded in agreenment and stared at Nightmsit wanting to know the answer.

"I-I figured out that it was our language just backwards," She said confidently with her ears flattened against her head. Luna broke into laughter and pricked her ears.

"Well,well. It appears yo uhave decoded our language! How splendid! Try to decode what I say," SHe trailed off and cleared her throat and stretched her head high and had a look of authority.

"Did ouy tae lla eht ssarg?" She asked questionably. Nightmist stood tall which put her up to Flare's neck length. She wasn't very tall and these were very tall horses.

"You said, and I quote, 'Did you eat all the grass?'" Nightmist replied with a smirk on her face. Flare just stared at her sister and then stifled a nicker when his sister scrunched up her neck and eyes were wide and had an expression of amazement.

"Oh my hoof. You are very talented! You would make a fine horse!" She ncikered. Flare nodded his approval but only looked down and swallowed hard, not draring to look at Nightmist.

Nightmist smirked and stopped being tall and tossed her forelock out of her eyes.

"I told you," She said fiercely, "I could probably decode anything you say!" She snorted with pride. Luna nickered and lowered her head and lifted it up again with a smile of pride on her face.

"I'm sure you could," Luna replied and then she nodded her ehad and trotted away to a group of mares that greeted her with excited whinnies, leaving Flare and Nightmist alone.

Flare just dug his hoof into the ground and shuffled his feet. Nightmist detected awkwardness and bit her lip and opened her mouth to say, "So. You are the one who saved my life? From that-that thing?" She said quickly. Flare snapped his head up quickly and rested his back hoof and let his forelock move over his eye.

"Yes," He replied and a shiver went up his spine.

Nightmist nodded and looked at him with the brightest blue their possibly could be eyes, and nodded.

"Thank you," She said and she turned to leave.

Flare only stared after her as she walked away and opened her wings to fly. He watched with curiousity as she lifted into the air and flew away. She left one feather behind and he caought it in his teeth.
