Ashwind sagged against his mother at hearing Stormwing's news. Of course, he had expected it. But knowing it was coming didn't soften the blow of it any less.
The herd rattled their feathers. Some reared, and others were just stunned.
"I will go with a captain and his best warriors to try and negotiate." Stormwing said. Suddenly Flamefire, Lightbreeze's sire, flew up out of the crowd. "I'll go," He volunteered.
"No. You need to stay and protect the herd. We are migrating, and that makes us vulnerable to attacks." Stormwing said.
"Sir. My filly was captured, too. I will do anything and everything in my power to get her back if negotiating doesn't work."
Stormwing sighed. "All right. Gather your best warriors. We leave in ten minutes."
Flamefire nodded and flew away. Stormwing dismissed the meeting, and walked off to consult with Brightcloud, Leaving Canyon Herd stunned and Ashwind in his misery.

Really good, Stormwing seems is a much better overstallion then Hawkwing!

Sunfeather: Shy dun filly with red-orange feathers, dorsal stripe, and golden eyes. Nightshade's twin sister. Sunflower: Palomino mare with a light purple feathers, large star on forehead, and 3 white socks. Sablestone: Young, buttermilk buckskin pinto stallion with sky blue feathers, blue eyes, bald face. Plains Herd: Hawkwing: Overstallion. Ruthless brown pinto with white feathers tipped in brown. (or whatever color hawk wings are hehehe see what I did there? hehe) Mooncloud: Lead mare. Dark silver appaloosa mare with light aqua feathers, long, wavy, black mane and tail, and black points. Cloudfire: Captain. Perlino stallion with dark purple feathers, thin blaze down face. Aspenglade: Skyherder. Small, red dun mare with coral feathers and blaze. Graydawn: Skyherder. Gray mare with red feathers, and broken stripe on face.
