Meadowleaf flew high into the sky, her deep green eyes blinking wildly. She needed to escape, the sorrow was overwhelming. The four year old mare had just watched her twin sister die. Her feathers matched the color of the clouds, a light orangeish pink. Suddenly they cramped, she began hurtling twards the ground. Meadowleaf became awear of the trees but her wings wouldnt move. She landed in the leafy canopy and passed out. when her eyes opened, the medican mare, Skyroot, was pooring water on her face. Skyroots voice rung in her ears. "Meadowleaf? Are you awake?" Meadowleaf groaned. " Can i PLEASE be alone for two seconds?!?" "As you wish, Your Magesty." Skyroot nickered and roled her eyes. " But not really. youve broken a leg and spranged both wings. you wont be going anywhere. I'll help you over to the medican nest though." Once Meadowleaf was in the nest, Skyroot trotted off." Stay put!" she whinnied over her sholder. Meadowleaf looked at the sky, greif in her eyes. She saw a shadow twisting around the trees. "Skyroot? Are you back already?" A pegasi burst through the trees. "Meadowleaf!" The bay stallion stood in front of her, his brown eyes twinkling. when he saw blood trickeling down her chest he gasped. "What. Did. You. Do." "Hi Duskfire! well, I-" "Never mind". Duskfire moved almost machanicly. He tore down some banannas from a nearby tree and went about peeling the leaves from them. he placed them on her wings and legs, which stopped throbbing in a few minutes. "I get back from my meeting only to find you broken." Duskfire said humerously. "Humph, well remember the time you cramped and fell during flight class?" Meadowleaf snickered. "AND the time when you broke your leg in a gopher hole? Careless, careless." Duskfire nickered. " where is Rosewind? I would expect her to be here." Meadowleaf cringed. "S-Shes, dead." She hung her head, the sorrow coming back. Duskfire's eyes widened."I-I'm sorry, I didnt know. I better get going. See you in the morning!" And with that Duskfire was gone.
