NEW STORY!!!!!!!!! (been working on this for the past week :)

(*note- I know this first chapter is a little boring, but it’s just to give readers the information they need and set up for the rest of the story)

Goldmist trotted across the field, towards the large valley where she and her friends met. She was from Sun Herd, her friend Mintfrost from Jungle Herd, and Ashpebble from Mountain Herd. It wasn’t allowed, strictly speaking, but their parents were mostly okay with it, since they knew each other and the herds were at peace. She broke into a canter when she saw Ashpebble waiting. “Hi!” she nickered to her friend. Ashpebble nickered back, then gestured with her wing towards the huge rock where they left messages. “Mintfrost is going to be late” she said. The friends had a code they used on the rock, using the mud from the stream. Goldmist nodded. “Okay” she said. “In the meantime… race you to that tree!” she said, taking off. Ashpebble was fast, and her buckskin pinto coat was blurry as she swept past the tree only a moment after Goldmist. They landed, and several minutes later heard the familiar nicker of Mintfrost. “Hi guys!” she called, waving a pinkish-purple wing. The mint-green edges glinted in the sun. Goldmist walked over, her streaked black and silver mane bouncing on her neck. They talked for a while, then Ashpebble had to leave, and Goldmist soon after. She waved goodbye to her friends and then flew back to her herd.
