SOOOOOO this was for @Skysun's writing challenge!!!!! It's called Just Remember, and you'll understand why at the end. It takes place in Windborn, so it might contain spoilers, but I hope you like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just Remember By Stormsun Crystalflare looked up at Nightwing, grief in her eyes. A tremor ran through her body. She flapped her scarlet edged dark blue wings and glanced at the Ice Warriors, who were eyeing the captured pegasi. Crystalflare sighed softly. One of the Ice Warriors, Moonstar, was her brother, and she looked at him with sad eyes. She gritted her teeth and inhaled softly. Crystalflare looked away from him and at Morningleaf and her friends. They were planning something, she knew. Crystalflare pricked her ears, trying to listen, but she was too far away. Crystalflare wished she had friends... even just someone to talk too... but no. All she had was Moonstar, who was following the orders of Nightwing, and for all she knew, if he said even a speck of a nice word to her, one of them would be punished.  Then, Crystalflare heard a loud scream, coming from Hazelwind, as Morningleaf fell towards the large river, her wings angled slightly. Morningleaf’s long flaxen mane fluttered, and then was soaked as Morningleaf hit the water with a loud splash. Hazelwind, Dewberry, Brackentail, and Bumblewind dove after her.  Nightwing roared for his Ice Warriors, and immediately six stallions rattled their wings and followed Mornigleaf’s friends. One of the stallions was Moonstar. Crystalflare watched in horror as he hurtled towards land at breakneck speed, and dove straight into the river. His head struck against a large rock, and he sank, his white mane waving in the water. “Moonstar!” she whinnied softly. She waited for him to resurface. Her mind swirled and she felt dizzy. He never reappeared, only a bent golden feather that floated in the water, glimmering in the sun. Crystalflare’s heart shattered and she moaned. She cried silently. “Moonstar...where are you?” She waited. Her ears drooped, and her wings felt heavy, like she’d fall out of the sky any second. “Moonstar.” She cried softly. Nightwing called his Herd to land, and they descended, landing by the river. Crystalflare angled her wings, following Nightwing and the others, and landed on the hard ground, almost falling over. Her heart pounded and she groaned. She wiped her cheek with her wing and looked at Nightwing, who was scanning the Herd. He picked two stallions to guard the river. Crystalflare moaned and covered her muzzle, watching her brother’s golden feather float in the water. The two stallions scanned the river, waiting to see if any pegasus appeared. Crystalflare sobbed into her wing. Oh, Moonstar. Why did you obey Nightwing? You should’ve just... let the other stallions try to find Morningleaf. Why does Nightwing need her, anyway? I don’t understand... I wish you were here. Crystalflare looked up. She heard a voice. But the other steeds didn’t seem to hear it... which was strange. Then, all of a sudden, a light grey stallion with bright golden wings appeared in front of her, his long white mane blowing back. “Moonstar?” Crystalflare stared at her brother in shock. His transparent body shone. “It’s me... Crystalflare.” Moonstar lowered her muzzle next to hers. Crystalflare sobbed, “What’s... what’s happening? Are you... dead?” Her heart squeezed. Moonstar sighed, and ruffled his beautiful feathers. “Yes. But... you must stay safe. You deserve a real life, alright?” He looked at her, his light blue eyes shining with love for his sister. “How do I stay safe?” Crystalflare whispered. “Nightwing...” Moonstar darkened, “Just... don’t...” He shook his head and wrapped his golden wings around her. Crystalflare wept. “Moonstar... don’t leave me... with him. I’m scared... that Nightwing... that he will never be defeated.” She buried her muzzle in his mane. Moonstar stepped back, and brushed her cheek with his wing. “Just remember, whatever you do, wherever you are, wherever you go, I will always be with you.” He smiled softly, and vanished. Crystalflare felt a few tears slide down her cheek. She bowed her head and squeezed her eyes shut.
