Kind of a corny title but I couldn't think of anything better lol. BUT I had this GENIUS idea that I thought we all could do together!
Basically, we write a book together. :)
It's about after Frostfire left with Larksong and the new foal Starfrost. For the perspective, let's do 3rd Person Omniscent. We don't really see Star or the new herds, but their herd system works as the same Desert, Jungle, Sun etc, but with a counsel for each herd and a representative that meets with the others periodically. The book is focusing on the question, "what happened after Frostfire left Star at the end of Windborn?"
How this works:
I write a paragraph, then someone else writes a follow-up paragraph that someone else writes a follow-up to, and then so on and so forth.
The Rules are simple:
Paragraphs can be long or short, but please keep them paragraphs, not chapters. :)
be kind and appropriate (not really a problem here though)
Please try to follow the storyline so that your paragraph aligns with the previous ones.
Be open to other's suggestions (don't try to control the way the story goes please. suggestions are fine, but it's okay if they don't happen)
Have fun! :)
Without further ado, here is the starting paragraph!
Frostfire snorted and bowed his head to Star, thanking him for his help in rescueing his new family. Star nodded and smiled. He wished he could spend more time with his relative, Frostfire seemed to be warming up to him. "Where are you going to go?"
"I am...not sure."
"At any rate, be safe. And don't hesitate to come back if you need help."
Starfrost looked very sad. He looked down and silently cried. He doesn't understand! he thought.
Frostfire hung his head and looked at Larksong for backup. The mare nickered and nuzzled her son. "Come on. Maybe you can visit later. But for now..." She nodded at Frostfire, who had turned to stare rigidly at the horizon, gathering his thoughts. Starfrost mumbled about family bonds, but when he turned to look at the former black foal, he realized what he needed to do. "Ill come." He said softly. Star smiled at him and gave him one last hug before stepping back. Frostfire took off without another word, a sadness crushing his soul unlike what he'd ever experianced. Larksong whinnied for Starfrost to follow. Hesitantly, he spread his yellow wings and followed.
(I know this is like dead but I wanna try to continue it)
Starfrost looked at his father pleadingly. "Dad, please! Let us stay! I'll be all alone! I won't have friends!" he yelled at his parents, sad. Frostfire's eyes hardened to stone. "Enough! Either you come with us, or I leave you in the Vein!" he snapped at his son. Larksong sidled next to Star, worried and slightly scared.
Starfrost barreled into his sire, knocking him over, then did the same to his mother.
Star growled. "Starfrost, enough!" he neighed. "As much as I want you to stay, that's not my choice. It's your parents'."
Starfrost sighed and stood as still as a stone. "But I don't wanna leave you..." he muttered.
Starfrost whinnied back “Please let us stay!”
Frostfire looked to Star and pinned his ears “ This place is not for us. “ he said flatly
Frostwing whirled around. "Starfrost!" He whinnied angrily. He looked at Larksong for backing and swooped to follow his son. Larksong pinned her ears and dived back down. "You need to learn some respect for our instructions!" she brayed, landing beside her colt.
Starfrost, without thinking, bolted down to the meadow and hid behind Star before his sire could reach him.
Starfrost sobbed as his ears drooped. "What am I going to do now..?" he mumbled. "I don't wanna be alone..." he felt weak, and fell toward land. "Papa, help!" he screamed.
Frostfire caught up to him and cut him off barring his tetah, with a hard bite her herded his colt back
"But father!" Starfrost whinnied
Frostfire he gritted his teeth "not another word!" he brayed as the flew farther away from the untied herd
Starfrost pinned his ears and flew back down to them as fast as his little wings could take him, knowing Frostfire was hot on his tail. "Papa, we need to go back! Lightfeather wouldn't have wanted us to leave her son!" he yelled.
Frostfire pinned his ears as he spoke harshly, not looking back
"We cant Starfrost and we will never join his herd, besided just beacuse his weakmother is my sister means nothing!" he brayed, yet in the back of his mind he doubted himself
Starfrost sniffled, holding back his tears. "Papa, why are we not going back to Star and Morningleaf? Star seemed... sad when we left. You and I are the only living family Star has!" he said.
he looked to his colt again and his love grew for his colt, he risked everyone's life and Star's trust for the foal and to him it was worth it.
Frostfire knew he couldn't go back. He regretted his choices, for how he was raised. He was angry at Rockwing, and petalcloud for giving him up. How could they? He was so filled with anger. He looked at his son and gritted his teeth. He could be better then them.
Starfrost looked back at the herds, watching them play with their ancestors. He longed to go back, but his sire didn't want to. He hovered with tears in his eyes as he realized that he would never grow up with a real family. He knew they'd be pushing him, like Rockwing had done with Frostfire.
Frostfire looked forward as his mind raced, he lashed his tail in annoyance, Why did i betray Star. he would have helped me and...given my the Herd of my dreams he shook his head as he tried to clear his mind from such a stupid idea. He had done what he did and now there was no turning back, he would never have the herd of his dreams or to be close with Star. he shook his head again annoyed with himself and his thoughts
"Are you alright?" Larksong asked seeing the Captain's face
"'I will be" he snorted as he pushed in thoughts away, he had his herd, Larksong and his colt Starfrost but even then a small hole was in the stallions heart.
Starfrost looked back at his cousin, then was tapped on the shoulder by his sire. "You okay, Starfrost?" he asked. Starfrost nodded. Frostfire stared at his mate, then back at his son. "Alright then . . ." he said, suspicous.
StarFrost fluttered in the air behind LarkSong, only looking back every once and awhile to his uncle and his herd. He flew faster to try and keep up with his Mother. He wished he could play that way too, but what if they traveled father, where nobody would be? Would that make him alone? He looked down as he pretended to trace the outline of the earth with his hooves.
Frostfire nodded as he flared his large wings. "Sure," he snorted. then he looked behind him. "Starfrost come one, time to leave" he nickered proud of being a sire.
"Just a couple of minutes please?" bleated Starfrost as he played with Star. The great white stallion shook his head as he lifted of the ground followed by Larksong. Starfrost he fluttered his yellow wings "bye, bye he said sadly as he followed his mother.
