Drawing time - 3:40:31
Okay, there are a LOT of firsts for me with this drawing, some of which I guess are things I've kinda tried in the past, but it's been a while. The biggest one is her position because I think I've only done one other drawing of a full grown pagasus laying down before and I did it on paper not digital. I didn't originally plan to do this pose and I was actually intending on doing her rearing since the last several drawings I've done where of pegasi standing or walking on level ground and I wanted to mix things up a bit. Buuuuut, then I went on the black hole that is known as Pinterest and first thing that popped up on my for you page was a line art drawing of a horse laying down and I was like "That it's it! That's how I'm going to draw her!". One thing led to another, and there she was. There are diffidently a few things that I messed up on proportion wise, but over all I'm pretty happy with the final drawing. Another thing that was new was I'm pretty sure this was my first time doing a badger face marking in my actual style. I've done it before with my spirit style generator so I'm somewhat familiar with how to do it, but I surprisingly never have done it this way. Other things that are new with this drawing were the scars/scratches on her body, the specific pattern of pinto markings on her belly, drawing a short mane vs. the normal long manes I typically go for, and the strategy I used for her dapples (which sadly mostly got covered up by her wings). Overall, I'm really pleased with how she turned out and I'm glad I got to test out so many different things in just this one drawing!
